New/Old Model 10

Got my package today from buds. Advertised as 70-80% cond. I would give this one 70% but still a little better than expected. Normal holster wear for its age and the grips are worn. Was more disappointed in the grips since I wanted to leave stock grips,so I'll try to refinish. Not sure of mfg. date serial # BKZ5727 and inside grip stamped (41). I'm wondering if that's the year? There's also a stamp behind cylinder VPA048?
Here it is $279

Cruddy pic, but great guns! A 15-3 and postwar M&P. Traded a 12 ga. I didn't want anymore for the M&P, it's hard to decide which one I like more! The action on the 15 is great, but the balance of the 5" barrel on the M&P is pretty much perfect.

I keep meaning to trade one of them for a Blackhawk, but it hasn't happened yet.:D

Anyone know what could cause the sideplate wear on the M&P, btw?

Also, SaxonPig, I love the snubbie w/half-moon sight! Would love to find one of those for CC someday!

9mmFan - that's a nice one. Original grips and older flap holster. Good photo composition.

Thanks. Found the gun at Cabela's at all places. Sold a Tomcat I didn't end up carrying to a friend, and had a couple gift cards. Covered everything except $4 and the tax.

I have to admit that the holster is not old. I ordered it from a costume shop around 2007, I think it was, for my first gun, a 4" M64. It's their "Raiders" holster. I was pleasantly surprised that the quality is actually pretty good. It's nice and thick. I'm not trotting around the globe with it, but it works well for transporting the gun to the range and occasionally carrying around on camping trips. If I cut a notch out for the rear sight, my M28 seems like it ought to fit as well.

Thanks AirCool for the info and the link to the grips. I touched up a couple small places on the bluing, so with the new grips I'll call it good. The other one I have has the houge grips already. This way I'll have one all original.
