New HR 1022 Assault Weapons Ban - threads merged

SecDef:

Re your suggestions, thank you, I have on my computer Spybot Search and Destroy, Adaware and Norton Anti Virus which I renewed within the last few days.

I run system scans regularly, once a week, sometimes more often. No virus are detected and any adware/spyware and or other oddities discovered, so far as I know, are eliminated by the above mentioned programs. I also have a Windows XP Firewall enabled.

Re a solution, where to from here seems an appropriate question.?

Perhaps it is the FlashPlayer you are using. Try the following which is at http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/webfor...8587ECEFA4AD6&jsessionid=4830dc0f571d4d1b1755 and worked for me at least.

Go to http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=tn_14157 and download the appropriate uninstaller to your hard drive.

READ THE INSTRUCTIONS!

Reboot the unit.

After boot, run the uninstaller.

Reboot the unit.

After boot, open http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash and run it.

FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS!

Try this YouTube clip http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RRxFjf40xbI

If it works, laugh your ass off.

Pay especial attention to this part at http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=tn_14157 :

Note: The uninstaller cannot remove files currently in use.

If you have any instances of the player open in your web browsers, instant messaging clients, stand-alone SWFs, or projectors, then the uninstaller will complete but some files may not be deleted. If this occurs, then close all of your applications and run the uninstaller again to ensure that all files are removed.

It is probably your bandwidth because the video and audio is playing faster than your connection can download it. Let it sit for a lil bit and then press play again.

Prophet,jimpeel and SecDef:

Thanks for information and suggestions offered.

This AM, I contacted Tech Support at Smart Computing, a computer related monthly that I take.

The gentleman I spoke with there offered the following re the situation described, audio breakup. when I indicated that I use a dial up connection. He stated that that was the root of the problem, insufficient band with and a "slow" connection. Some sort of "fast connection" he indicated would fix the problem.

I can try Jim's suggestion, however if the problem is essentially caused by a "slow" connection, I doubt that it will help. We shall see.

Thanks to all.
