Can you join JFPO if you're not Jewish?
Yes you can. I'm not Jewish and I joined - it's a smaller organization (I believe) than the NRA or GOA, but they are hardcore about our right to arms.

I highly recommend that anyone who cares about the Second Amendment join JPFO. Here's their website www.jpfo.org

Gimme a break!

You have already read that al Husseini, the radical Muslim cleric, was successful in convincing Hitler to pursue the Holocaust rather than deporting Jews to Israel.

Just how the hell could a Muslim cleric named al Husseini convince Hitler to pursue the Holocaust rather than deporting the Jews to Israel when Israel did not exist as a political or geographical entity and the current form wasn't created until after WWII? He may have suggested to Hitler not to send the Jews to Palestine, but he would not have suggested Hitler send the Jews to a place not recognized at the time as a geo-political region or country.

No doubt al Husseini was a bad man who provided advice to Hitler and that advice had a negative impact on the Jewish population. However, al Husseini did not suggest to Hitler not to export the Jews to Israel any more so than to Fugawiland. You see, Hitler did not have a time machine with which to send Jews back in time to Biblical Israel or forward in time to what is post WWII Israel.

No surprise the Muslims don't like the Jews. This isn't news. It seems over the long history of the Jews that just about everyone has taken a jab at them. Funny thing, even the Christians have had significant conflicts with Jews even though God's son, Jesus, was a Jew. Jesus was a Jew, not a Christian. Ironic.

Orig post by model 25 I got to chuckle here There are more ways to get your guns than just confiscation. You realize that alot of people didn't have guns in the old west because they couldn't afford them. Well when the economy goes because the Republicans sold out the jobs then you will sell your gun for something to eat.

Model 25, You're making way too much sense here. The last time that happened the surge was so overwhelming the site went down for a couple days. :D

The policy of the Bush administration is to send your job overseas or give it to an illegal. Why? Well it is for power. It takes money to win an election and if you destroy the peoples ability to give money then they have no power.
Like em or not Bush is out to destroy the unions and any group that supports other than Repubs. Just like the democrats did.

We as Americans are going to suffer real bad soon.
Yep, We recently had "Onold" the Govenator attempt this most basic of Neocon tactics in our state. The name of the game was "bind and gag" rank and filers by illiminating or restricting their ability to donate to those who historically support there economic concerns.
After millions of dolloars for this sham special election he lost miserably. Onold's NOT been unable to sit down ever since.
Neocons seem to hate folks who toil in the trenches having any control over their own $$ destiny. Sounds like life in the cottonfields. Watzupwidat!

Hey, someone had to rebuild the military that Clinton spent eight long years gutting so he could piss trillions down the drain on his lame-ass ideas...

And Reagon's Star Wars idea wasn't a lame-ass idea? I seem to recall a lot of lame-ass ideas from Republicans and their supporters. And while many like to talk down about "tax and spend" democrats, why are the Republicans responsible for most of our nations debt?

The wonderful Republican, President Bush Sr introduced the first assault weapons ban, and only joined the NRA to get votes. He was anti-gun.

I'm concerned about any group who wants to kill an entire group of people based on their race or religion
Yep! Only delete concerned about and replace with outraged and frieghtened by

Yep! Funny we don't hear much about that do we.

As Americans, we should all heed this warning and be prepared - the Islamofascists who would kill every Jew make no distinction between Americans and Jews, as America is the declared ally of Jerusalem.

So in what way are the people of Islam fascists? Are they comprised of a system of government marked by centralization of authority under a dictator, stringent socioeconomic controls, suppression of the opposition through terror and censorship, and typically a policy of belligerent nationalism and racism?

Fascism doesn't fit in with the current goings-on as the term is being applied to militants who are not in a government with centralized authority or promoting dictatorship.

As for Americans being an ally of Jerusalem, what do you mean? Americans are not allied with a city in Israel, but the government and country of Israel.

It is rather interesting that militants would make no distinction between Americans and Jews as the American government supports. Said militants did make a distinction between Saudi Arabia and the infadel American forces even though Saudis supported the infadel Americans in attacking other Muslims.

It is a naive and hugely over simplified consideration to suggest that militant Muslims would be as quick to harm Americans as Jews because America has supported Israel. The conflict goes way beyond aupport of the Jews and dislike for Americans being established long before modern Israel was established.

As much as Hitler and the Nazis hated us, the radical Muslims hate us even more. To Hitler, we were a problem. To the radical Muslims we have become deadly enemies.

This is something of a nonsense statement and geared to insight conflict. The role of Hitler against the Jews wasn't simply because he considered them a problem. I don't see how Hitler's attempt at exterminating Jews could be viewed to reflect him thinking Jews were a problem. The only reason I can see to down play the Holocaust in this manner is so that the conflict with Muslims be played up as being so deadly that nothing else has been such a threat to Jews. Of course, Hitler's problems with the Jews are being downplayed as that is simply resolved history. Hitler is dead.

Muslim terrorists have made no secret of their plans for Jews. They have made it very clear that not a Jew should be left alive in the Middle East.

Just how does this supercede Hitler's wishes and attempted execution to see that no Jews are left alive anywhere in the Third Reich?

If militant Muslims are a greater threat to Jews than Hitler was, then why are militant Muslims so slow and poorly organized in their endeavor against Jews? Keep in mind that Hilter killed around 6 million Jews in a few years. Militant Muslims haven't accomplished this level of killing in all the years since the end of WWII.

So militand Muslims want to kill the Jews. Why is this so surprising. Non-acceptance of other faiths isn't uncommon. Strangely while Christians are supposed to be so forgiving, The Bible calls for killing those who worship other gods (Deuteronomy, Chapter 17:2-3,5). Of course, Deuteronomy is the fifth book of the Hebrew Bible as well. Exodus 35:2 has it that anyone working on the Sabbath should be killed. Given that Sundays are not of religious significance to Muslims, they would be inclined to work Sundays and therefore should be killed.

Leviticus 24:16 states that he who blasphemes the name of the Lord should be stoned to death. Obviously non-Christians would be common targets as they are not believers.

So we villify Muslims for the words in the Quran, but think nothing of the fact that our religous texts call for similar killings. So Christian and Jewish teachings are as much of a threat to Muslims as vice versa. If our texts call for the killing of Muslims or other non-believers of Christianity, then why is it a shock that the reverse is true?

I have to laugh whenever I hear the battle cry of "Never Again!" "Never Again!" issues seem to be issues that do come back again and again. This battle cry, as it turns out, doesn't seem to reflect more about preparations and fighting back as much as a plea for divine help to act on behalf of those who really aren't doing all that much to make certain events don't happen again. "Never Again!" seems to have a very short duration of time giving that 'never' is supposed to be just that, never. Instead, "Never Again!" cries are until events do happen again.

The first terrorist attack on the World Trade Center produced the battle cry. How much good did it do? None. An attack did happen again and was worse than the earlier attack.

Amen, Rimrock.

Most of the victims of Islamofascists attacks have been peaceful Muslims. This despite the fact the Koran expressly forbids Muslims from killing other Muslims.
The Islamofascists want to take over the entire world and eliminate all of who do not believe the way they do. This is no secret. One of the founding fathers of Islamism, Hassan al-Banna, blamed Western secularism for having delayed the advancement of the Muslim world for centuries. He urged his followers to "pursue this evil force to its own lands, invade its Western heartland, and struggle to overcome it until the world shouts by the name of the Prophet".

This is from a publication titled 'Faith Yakun, To Be a Muslim' published by International Islamic Publishing House, 1996 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The Islamofascists are targeting Jews, Christians, Hindus, and mainstream Muslims who don't believe the way they do. And the majority of Muslims don't believe the way they do, so they're victims of terrorist attacks also.

I think we're very lucky these groups have not been able to be cohesive and coordinated.

Model 25 DOES have a point here, regarding taking away guns by forcing the populace to sell them for needed cash.

I was an example of that a few years ago. I made the fool mistake of paying my house off with everything I had, then lost my job. When the account got down to .. um.. very little money, I sold my Cougar 8045 for $325.

Only 2 months later I was able to buy another gun, but life got in the way and I put it off until nearly 2 years later.

Now, I did have other things I could have sold, and I could have done a home equity. But none of those things would have brought the quick cash a gun can bring, and the government knows that, I'm sure. And a lot of people don't have a paid-for house or other sellable things that have held their value.

I'm a little more careful now about just how low I let my cash get.

Your entire post was was right on the money! Thanks! Seems like too often and too many of us like to "lump" things together in this country...especially the things we don't understand. One of the most simplistic and over used terms in our society is "bad guys" We do like our broad brush in the country.
As to the last sentence....We seem to be doing our level best to bring these factions together. GWB & Co are in fact the great uniters!
What a tragic waste of eight years of opportunity!

Well, I'm not so sure now we should not be in Iraq. There is evidence Hussein was providing stuff to the Islamofascists, and their goal is to bring the fight to U.S. soil. Iraq was one of the first nations to celebrate when 9/11 occurred.
From the stuff I've been looking at, I'm not so sure now that going there was a mistake. They are eventually going to bring the fight to our soil if they can, it makes sense to hit them whereever we can first. This Islamofascist-Western conflict is already a worldwide conflict.

The thing that bothers me is Saudi Arabia has consistently been one of the main supporters of these terrorists, yet we remain friendly with them. I'm not so sure they shouldn't have been targetted prior to Iraq.

One of the main things Bin Laden wants to do right now, and is succeeding, is get Americans divided on Iraq. We need to unite and support our troops and their efforts, instead of protesting.

Protesting is so important to a free democracy. The World see's that we are capable of honest gov't critism and debate. That's one of the liberties allegedly for which so many are dying.
Iraq never was a threat compared to Iran, Saudi Arabia the Afgan Taliban and Syria. But Iraq was so dog gone "easy pickins" and with all those self-funding natural resources it appeared to be a "lay down":o
Just one more reason to actually attend class instead of "phoning it in"
It's not the protesters resonsible for this crime against humanity!
...and conscientious people from all political prespectives know it deep in their souls!

I think so many people are basing their views on Iraq based on what we get from the media. Iraq with Hussein was just as big a threat as the others. I think we screwed up by thinking they would embrace western style democracy. When we first ousted Hussein, people in Iraq cheered in the streets and welcomed us. Now with the insurgents reeking havoc, it's not the case. However, there are several in Iraq who are just as against the insurgents as we are, and we have to get them up to speed. I think we will eventually withdraw from Iraq, it's just going to take time. And I didn't mean to say I think protesting should be made illegal or anything. I just wish we as a people would support our folks over there a little more on our own. From what I've seen historically, people in the US who supported Vietnam were hippie/rich kids for the most part who got out of being drafted. People protesting now to me do not have a realistic view of what the world has become. The United States now has a big target painted on it, and they're aiming at us. We have to take measures now to try to keep it from happening, and Iraq is one of those measures.

The Bible calls for killing those who worship other gods (Deuteronomy, Chapter 17:2-3,5). Of course, Deuteronomy is the fifth book of the Hebrew Bible as well.

That law was given as part of a set of regulations on how Hebrews should regulate themselves and those living in their lands. As it says in Deuteronomy 17:2, "If a man or woman living among you in one of the towns the Lord gives you . . .". It is not a call for Jews to enforce it on peoples outside of their land. Maybe thats why Jews have a much lower occurrence of believers needlessly killing people in foreign countries. Your other examples show a similar distaste for context.

Those of so called faith sure have done a job on humanity over the years!
I particularly like it when folks claim some divine selection by God while the rest of the world's population is just here for effect.:barf:
Show me folks of that ilk and I'll show you a bus leavin' for hell!:o
All a board!

And what have those without faith accomplished that's so good? Those who claim faith in one god or another have done harms in our history, but don't forget about the wonderful secular humanists like Stalin, Mao, and Fidel Castro. Your philosophy has no edge in a debate on morality or the advancement of man.

Misconceptions

Interesting conversation. I would like to clarify a couple things though. #1. You can be Jewish by race, religion (choice) or both. #2. The Brady bill was signed by Clinton on Nov. 30,1993 as part of the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act of 1994. Brady was Reagans press secretary who was wounded during the attack on Reagan. The bill was nicknamed after him. #3. Bush Jr. did enact a 2 year ban on ALL Norinco products that included toys, electronics, firearms and about a 1000 Wally World items. This was punishment for using slave labor and unfair buisness practices against the U.S. #4. It is unfair to use the Old Testament as a guideline to judge Christians. We are supposed to be operating under a new set of guidelines called the New Testament. #5 Star Wars was a brilliant psy-op program that led the USSR to realize that they could not keep up with us in technology or financially. They destroyed their already bankrupt economy trying, and this helped lead to their dissolution. We didn't field the system or spend that much money convincing them that we were serious about it.
