Neighborhood bully advice

This post has nothing to do with your present situation. But somewhere reading all the replies I vaguely remembered a few stories I heard.

This first one is impossible to track down, but somewhere in the Tennessee Valley around 1820 there was a really tough guy who was caught for killing some citizens and who told the judge that he wouldn't let anybody ever run over him. So the judge ordered him to be hanged and his body buried under the busiest street in town so people would run over him forever.

The second one I heard was the one about Billy the Kid. Everybody knows it so I won't bother to elaborate. I once went through his museum in New Mexico and from his pictures he was a wormy young fellow.

I did track down this other story which is more modern and its worthy of a country song. If any of you are music writers this is a song waiting to happen. Makes me tearful just thinking about it. Poor misunderstood guy.

There are times I wish there was a draft still in place. Two years in the army / marines might replace the bad boy with a good man.

Notice how it's a mom with 5 kids. Where the hell is the dad?

Yeah, just the kind of guy I'd want in my squad as a rifleman, walking behind me with a loaded gun and a grudge.

I served 3 years in the Army along with draftees. Those who were drafted and had an anti social attitude soon changed their ways once they realized they were forced to live with 60 other men who wouldn't tolerate their bullsh*t.

During basic training we didn't walk around with loaded weapons.
