Need advice on a revolver and a long gun for brown bear country.

I got the rules off a site for Glacier Park yesterday ....I did a search for backcountry permits...and it was in a 7 page printed guide on how to deal with everything in the back country in the park. Its probably a guide they have in the visitors centers / or that they give you when you pick up your permit.

I doubt those rules are specific to Glacier ....but I don't know.../ I'll do another search and find it again...
---------

I did another search....and found this guide / and the verbage I cited before has changed - and this one specifically says for the summer of 2012 in Glacier Park....its on page 4 of 7 of this Backcountry users guide...and it does not say firearms are prohibited in this edition of the guide ...in fact it says that loaded firearms are permitted in the park - doesn't say if you can open carry or if they have to be concealed...
...here is the other link I found this am....now I don't know what to think ??

If the state in which the park is located allows open carry, then you can open carry in the park. You should be good to go in MT, ID and WY.

If you decide to conceal carry and the state requires a CCW license, then you need a valid CCW license.

It's actually pretty straight forward.
