Need a hi-cap 9mm "car gun" (cheap)

That stuff happens, Thing is. Why not buy another PT111? They are cheap and we already know it will fill your intended role.

I did the same thing with a pocket .380 pistol. I moved to IWB with a J frame revolver. figured I would not need the pocket rocket any more and sold it.
Missed it almost the next day. Some times you just need some thing to drop in you pocket for a milk run.
Picked up a LCP as a replacement. For me I dont have a truck gun. I have the carry permit so if I left one in the truck and the wife got pulled over. Bad things could ensue, least of it would be the mad wife..
Wish I could though would love to have a full glove box all the time.

Spend/save 100 more(or maybe less) and buy a MP Shield. Or buy the Smith SD9VE, they are around that price point. Or, find a ruger P series. I have an old Ruger p89 from early 90's and it is a tank.

This was never an issue with any other caliber of Glock, including 9mm, which is the caliber under discussion here.

See what a guy gets for parroting what he's heard and read?!?!? :p

I stand humbly corrected. :)

Still sticking to the ideology that leaving a firearm in a vehicle is not a good practice.

Look around in the used section at your local shops.

A shop here near me has several M&Ps in 40 on sale for $299. A local security company went out of business and they scooped them up.

Kicking myself that I don't have the funds available.

I cant believe anyone would consciously leave a loaded weapon in a car as a "car gun"for any scumbag to take at will... You make us all look like idiots and make it harder to defend our rights against all the crazy new gun laws being pushed.

Gun ownership is a huge responsibility and if someone steals your "car gun" from your car, you are responsible! Especially since your intent is to leave it unsecured in your vehicle.

Exactly.

The OP is talking like he wants a gun that if it's stolen, it's not a big deal.

Well, it's a REALLY big deal. Not because you're out a few hundred bucks, but because you have just armed someone who very likely will murder someone with it.

Start acting like a grownup, with grownup responsibilities.

The interesting law suit, Glock was sued by Kahr, they borrowed the double recoil spring concept from them (and did not ask) it cost Glock big time.

I would consider one of the police trade in guns

There are M&P 40s with 3 mags for 300

That to me is a steal

I dont want to start a caliber war here, but if you are around a car,
the 40 cal does do better going through barriers like glass and steel
than the 9.

Against a soft target, they are close these days with the improvement in
9mm offerings.

In regards to gun in car, I have to leave my CCW in the vehicle because the places I go sometimes have 30.06 signs, or.... like my company, CCW
isnt allowed

Its taken inside at night.

I got a flyer email from CDNN earlier today, they had polymer frame EAA pistols (K2 in 9mm I believe) for under $300.

Not so sure on the .40 vs 9mm for going through cars...personal experience has shown me that ammo selection makes a huge difference. I've personally put Hornady Critical Duty 135gr +P 9mm completely through an old Jeep Wagoneer, smashing both side windows while passing through the doors. Same ammo went through the windshield, front seat, back seat, and buried in the tail gate. That's more than adequate performance on an old vehicle with heavy sheet metal.

If you keep a gun in car better be in a safe & secured . To leave unlocked in glove box under seat or else where is not being responsible gun owner . My car gun is on my hip and doesn't stay in car .

SAR B6P would be a great car gun but you would cry if it ever got stolen. 16+1 and shoots like a dream. 265 shipped at Bud's right now.

When I had a car gun because Ohio CCW was legal but not practical due to restrictions, I kept a HiPoint in my car. Not hicap though.

Diamondback had some major problems when they started up, but they seem to be doing a little better now. They have a 9mm full size model in your price range.

Last year, I was missing a Beretta 92FS I had owned, when I stumbled into a used, like new Taurus PT92 for $265.

What a great shooting pistol. 18rd MecGar mags are affordable and cheap surplus M9 mags are easily altered to fit.

And BTW, I consider a "car gun" to be one that I put in the car and take out again. I wouldn't leave it there.

Not always possible. Some of us work at places that don't allow firearms in the bldg.

Sometime I pick up a friend of mine kid from school, so I have to disarm too.
Not only isn't allowed in the building, but can't enter the parking lot neither.

There are alot of police and military trade ins coming on the market right now. Most are carried alot and shot a little. Classic firearms has a few to choose from for decent prices.
