My two carry guns...which would you chose?

Carry them both, not at the same time but carry one for a week then trade off.How many of us have more than one edc(every day carry gun).I carry a 4506-1,Glock 21 sf,S&W 686 4 inch.

Mainly it's a choice but i wouldn't scoff at either one of your choices.Just remember which you have on and how to use it.

I would carry the S&W. Glocks just don’t feel right in my hand.
I’ve never really seen the need for a hi-cap pistol.
I'm not a LEO.
I’m more of a 1911 or M60 kind of guy.

I would advise carrying the one you shoot the best. If you ever need it, it will be in an incredibly high stress situation, accuracy and speed under pressure will make the difference. Capacity and reloads are a much lower priority.

It really depends on what day it is because i use many different guns for CC. But im most likely to carry a 1911 of some brand, usually colt as my primary and i use snubs as backups most the time, Usually a Sp101 or a 637. cross draw weak side. But like i said it really depends what i feel on packing...

In the great tradition of the internet, I'm going to totally ignore what you have asked and come up with some off the wall answer like...

I would carry a Judge public defender if I were you.

...the glock.

Im not a fan of glocks but you could carry it sometime. However, Between those two I would go 686 with like 2 reloads (1 38special +P). A 357 magnum 125gr. Speer Gold Dot is going to put people down. 357 is a renound manstopper. My second favorite handgun round. 357's offer a lot of options like I said you can carry 1 38+P reload for variety. Whatever you favor, IMO, thats what I would carry most of the time. The 686 is one of the best 357's made, doesnt mean you cant carry your glock when ever you want to change though. Or both. ;)

Great answer man...I agree with the 357 being very powerfull, just last weekend my buddy and I went shooting, and we had a variety of targets, one of them being a 2-3 foot long chunk of a tree(was going to be used as firewood, but ended up getting full of lead):D...We had shot it already with some 40(from my g23 and his Sig), as well as some 38 special and 38+p.....all of those just made a little hole....I shot it with the 357 and a big chunk of the tree blew off from the impact...we also shot a steel hanging target, and the 38's would move it a bit, the 40 would make it swing back pretty far, but the 357 made the target swing all the way around at mach7...I have shot about 15k rounds of 9mm and 40, as well as some other calibers, but the 357 is stunning compared to those...the power, noise, and accuracy are very intoxicating...I guess I shouldnt really compare the two, they are very different guns and a good argument can be made for both...
Thanks everyone for your comments, Im glad this has turned out to be a good sized, no bs thread, every comment has been positive and that is pretty cool:D

I miss my snubbie and have trained with the Glock, wish I currently had your problem. Go with whatever you feel like that day, they're both good.

I switched........from a Colt commander.......

I carried the .45acp Commander for several years. When I retired & moved out here to the Country, I switched to a Ruger SP101, .357magnum.
It's lighter and handier for all day, every day carry.
I'm content with my Ruger. Use whichever you like best.

No problem Monster B glad you found my opinion a bit helpful. The 686 is an awesome revolver. I can see why you were choosing between both and dont find it odd. One has the high capacity lower recoiling advantage. The other has the serious stopping power. Dont get me wrong the glock is fine the round is a good stopper and you have a lot of em. But, with the 357 mag its a 7 shot. That is still plenty of ammo, I use a 1911 sometimes with 7 loaded and I feel comfortable. If you fire more than 7 rounds and it is not resolved then you should have a rifle and are using the wrong weapon. With speed loaders you could get very fast. I think the 357 is the better choice.
357 Magnum
125 gr. Bonded Defense JHP at 1,600 ft/s with 710 ft·lb/s
158 gr. Buffalo Bore Heavy at 1,485 ft/s with 774 ft·lb/s
The 357 Magnum is a very impressive round to me. In the 700ft/lb range hydrostatic shock can take effect. If it does actually matter. Anyway the 357 makes for an excellent stopper the statistics speak for themselves :D.
