My selling/buying binge is finally over: Results inside.

I kind of went on a selling and buying binge the past few weeks. I really worked on refining my collection a little bit and got rid of several old guns and added sveral new ones. At the end of it all, I wound up with one less gun that I started with and did spend enough money on top of the trades to have bought at least one really nice gun. Still, I am happy with the way it all ended up. I might have a gun less than I did before, and less cash in pocket, but I think I have a better collection now than before. :)

I sold my Walther PPS and bought a Kahr CW9.

I sold my Beretta Bisley and bought a S&W m66.

Wow! Always great pics. Would have kept the Smith 637, beautiful gun, but that's me. Is it really "over" or just on hold.

My selling/buying binge is finally over

A little river in Egypt...

Some nice looking trades there PBP! And I see that the 10mm has indeed entered your very veins! DW RB - good for you. Still a few more out there...

It is pretty much over. I was only able to make these purchases by selling things I already had. As of now, I do not have anything left that I would part with. :)

Tomorrow's a new day! Good luck! And remember, one day at a time...

And I do feel your pain, I do the same thing!

I'm glad you're "happy with the way it ended".
I just hope this doesn't mean that from now on we'll have to do without you & your great pictures of beautiful guns.

Congrats on the upgrades. It looks like some very nice changes.

How did you like your PPS? I have been considering one, but haven't committed to it. Seems like a nice, thin carry gun, but I might go for a larger gun, maybe a CZ for my first 9mm.

I would have kept the walther, the vacquerro, and the bisley, just for the fun of shooting them.

As long as you get some utility out of the new guns that you did not get from the old ones, its a good trade.

Apparently, not very well. :)

It was actually a very nice gun mechanically. I really, really tried to like it but I just kept getting worse with it the more I shot it. The best I ever did with it was the first day at the range where I was trying really hard, and being very forgiving of ergonomics that I just thought I was not used to yet. The grip just did not fit my hand at all.

I gather you like the Kahr. Do you have big hands? Was it the trigger on the Walther that hurt accuracy?
Beretta Bisley for a S&W no brainer.
Ruger Birds Head I would have held on to and turned into a .500JRH or something. Or just kept stock.
Why did you sell the Ruger? Bird's heads don't grow on trees.

The sig, while pretty, is not on my short list, since it's a caliber I'm not fond of.

Investment, and shooting and quality wise, the Colt Anaconda is a beautiful neat gun. Python on Steroids. If I had about 1200 laying around...But, I don't need a little caliber, like a .44 magnum...

Selling a snubby and moving to the Kahr is something I tried yesterday. I don't shoot snubbies very well, either, and, even though the 9mm is pretty weak out of the short barreled Kahr, the ability to hit my target is much higher.
Problem is, it's too heavy for a true sweatpants pocket gun, which the 360PD or 340 really are.

Wise move, anytime you go from a SA to a Colt in 1911.

Don't know about those plastic guns. Don't see much need for em if you have a 1911. H&K's just never worked for me.

Glad to see you are getting out of .380. I'd sell that Sig, too.

Socrates,

It was the grip on the Walther that hurt me more than anything. It was like trying to keep a grip on a 1x2 piece of lumber.

I sold the Ruger because I am weeding out the majority of my non-stainless guns. I am just keeping my matched set of SASS revolvers, my two Glocks, and (for now) my H&K P2000SK. :)

Pretty solid trade-offs except in the cases for the Kahrs, about which I have nothing nice to say and so will remain silent.

Trading an XD for a H&K is rather a wash at best, despite what the cult might have to say about it.

So, how do you feel about the Kahr grip on the PM9? I'm holding mine, and, it's certainly the smallest grip I've got, except maybe for my 360PD custom grips. It's not the easiest gun to shoot accurately with big hands...

That's one of the reasons I'd be willing to trade just a little size, for 45 ACP and a slightly bigger grip...

I find the grip on the Kahr a lot more comfortable...even on the PM9. The shape is completely different. It is not as long feeling and has a bit more arch to it.

Soo.. the single action revolver has fallen out of favor now?
(even it you prolly still own about a dozen right?)

And I personaly wouldn't have traded that sweet lookin beretta cheetah.
The ruger/anaconda trade is good tho I really like colt revolvers.

I still love SA revolvers and still have a bunch of them. Just not blued ones or case colored ones (even though I do still have two case colored ones). :)

Yeah Its hard not to love a good SA revolver:)

I feel in love with them the day I fired my first handgun (my father's repo/clone of a Remington army .44 cap-n-ball)

For a guy with so many nice guns, PBP you REALLY need a Freedom Arms, or BFR.
I do have a Freedom Arms on my want list. When I finally buy a huge hand canon in a caliber larger than .44mag it will be one of theirs. :)
