My condolences to you and the family, Son.

I lost my grandad when I was 19, I didnt take it too well since I saw him everyday, and then one day he is gone. Family members are irreplaceable, but they are never really gone from our hearts.

I am very sorry to hear of your loss, Son.

Keep his spirit with you as you travel, to Vietnam, back home, and always; until you are an old man yourself. Then, pass a bit of his spirit on; to someone young.

This is the nature of immortality.

Pass it on...

Son:

The only grandfather I knew and an uncle passed within a week of each other three years ago. I never really had a bond with either, but I felt the losses deeply.

I believe that just as you feel the loss of a kinsman as a loss of part of yourself, in the grief you experience, some of his joy lives on in you.

Honor his memory and preserve the joy.

Son, we offer our prayers and condolences to you and your family, and best wishes for a safe journey. As many have pointed out, they are not gone so long as you keep them in your heart. M&M2

Your Grandfather has gone to a more peaceful place. His future on Earth lives on, in you. Do not dwell on things left undone. Celebrate his life. His life is the reason there is a "you". Your life is a trust, to do with as you see fit. That is a huge gift.

Grandpa Sam

Son, you have my deepest sympathy. Both of my granfathers were long dead when I was born and my father died when I was 12. May these words comfort. Look for me in the eyes of my friends,in their hearts and minds I still exist. I live in the words that I wrote and the lives I touched when I was here. I hope that while I was here I made a difference. Hear my voice in the wind and smell my essence in the forest. Walk softly and listen, I am here. I will always be with the ones I loved. May God walk with you and be your guide. Your friend Ken in NC.
