My Glock came broke!!

One thing I haven't seen mentioned yet is the question of which serial number they put on the BATF paperwork. Did they use the serial number from the box or the gun? I'd want to know that. If they are not willing to show you the form to confirm this you should call BATF and explain the situation to them. I'd want it on record somewhere with someone if there was any doubt that I might be "registered" on BATF forms to one gun and actually got another. Just my $.02.

maybe because....

The slide rails are integrated into the main steel housing of the Steyr, which is a "steel pistol" that happens to be wrapped in a very strong "polymer". This makes it a beefy design. A Glock, H&K, and Walther P99 are conversely "polymer pistols" that mold the metal slide rails directly into the "polymer".

Glock perfection?,i have not seenit yet!,i love my G-26 and have a G-30 on layaway.I bought my glock 26 new and found out the hard way the ejector had not been installed,i should have noticed this at the store but after buying new firearms for over 20 years with no promblems i did not think about missing parts

If the gun indeed exists, and was tampered with, it most likely occured after it left Glock, and probably at the gun store, or from a former owner.

I certainly would let Glock, Inc. know about the problem you face. They are very responsive and customer service oriented, and I am confident that they will research the problem and make it right.

It has been more then a month and I still dont have my glock back. I dont know who dropped the ball but I am going to start raising hell. I am going to go to the dealer and bitch them out and then call Glock and bitch at them. I am going to complain because of two reasons:

1 I still don't have my gun back
2 They are just going to fix it

Well 3 if you include that I can't believe that it came broke in the first place and all the other problems.

I payed for a new gun and I am going to try very hard to make sure that is what I get.

bfj2, thanks for the update. So often in these groups, you hear about the problems, but not the solution, because there is no follow-up. Please, keep us informed. A month, and still no word from Glock? It sounds more like you're dealing with Kel Tec. BTW, I don't think you would be out of line if you posted the name of the dealer.

I have to think that a good gun store would have simply given you another new Glock and dealt with the problem themselves. That's what Shapel's did for me when I bought a new P11 that was defective. They gave me another one they had in stock on the spot, no questions asked.

What do you expect from

a tupperware manufacturer? if you want food-storage, buy tupperware, but for GOD SAKES, man, when you're buying a gun, DON'T get it at a tupperware dealer.

Ruger, S&W, Taurus, and MANY others offer GUNS for sale...

Glock offers tupperware.

keep this in mind when buying a GUN...

Sounds like someone was using your gun for parts.....and then screwed up replacing them.

Holding Glock responsible for the actions of some moron downstream (producer-distributor-seller) is ludicrous. That shop probably sells Ruger, *&*, Beretta, etc. and they are all scum simply because the shop employs an idiot?

It is sometimes complicated, legally, to swap guns.

The earlier poster was right...fixing it (with factory parts) should have been a 5 minute job and you would still have a "new" gun.

If it truly won't work, how did they manage to test fire it in Smyrna?

Sorry to hear about your problems. But it sounds like your dealer and not glock. Glock has the best cust. service that I know of. I have a few Glocks and they are great no problems what so ever. I have called there a few time for questions and they have been great.. Good Luck.. Some people call it tuperware thats because they probably have not owned one.. Once you go Glock you never go back.....

Some of us call them tupperware, because that is what they'remade of, and that screwy trigger will keepme fromEVER buying one...

that thing has been proven unsafe SO many times over... I don't relish the idea of shooting myself in the foot, just trying to un-holster my tupperware, so I buy real firearms, with steel and aluminum parts and real triggers with safeties, thankyou...

I would nicely ask the gun dealer for my money back or a NEW gun. If he refused I ask him to call the BATF and explain how he sold me a used pistol as new and with the incorrect serial number on the factory box.

Perhaps he would like the BATF to inspect his inventory and records instead.

Get your money back and go elsewhere.

These Idiodts have really given you no choice in the matter.

I would not accept the repaired gun cause of the serial number mix up.

Call the Attorney general in your state or the ATF if the gun store owner does not come up with a new repalcement.

There is nothing complicated about getting another gun. Your Old one (never delivered ) is a trade, the shop owner should trade it for a new one, I sure if you had the gun and brought it in he would have no problem offering you $250 for it since its used

Zoom Wilson said “BTW, I don't think you would be out of line if you posted the name of the dealer.”

I agree but I think I will keep it private anyway. However, if you are in the Charleston, South Carolina area and would like to know I will tell you.

Thanks for the info Master Blaster but can I get a little more. What is the BATF and ATF and do they have a web site that I can go to?

BATF - Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms

ATF, - Abbreviation of BATF...

but as for a link, or addy, I dunno... but you might try batf.gov they are a federal agency, linked to the govenrnment... and NOT ALWAYS the gun ownerds friend... that is why they are sugguesting you sic them on this dis-reputable gun dealer...

Hemi,
I'm glad you won't buy Glock. A Glock should only be used by someone who knows how to handle a treat a firearm. You obviously don't since you need some type of mechanical device to keep from shooting yourself.

Glock's reputation go's far beyond any little legal case you can site where some money hungry lawyer got laughed out of the courtroom because he tried to convince people that a gun is defective because when you pull the trigger and it go's bang!

The only reason you haven't gotten any takers on your flame bait is because most know better.

I agree leedesert. Always keep finger off the Trigger until ready to shoot. Guess they did not take Handgun safety classes...
Oh well I love my Glocks have never had any AD's. I know how to use my guns...

:D

Good for you bfj.

Sorry to say that your dealer should have acted on this sooner. I have the feeling he is one of very few dealers in your town. This would explain why he was not that worried about you taking your business elsewhere.
