Most overrated?

If the Glock is really overrated, then Glock has pulled off the biggest sham in the history of firearms manufacturing. My Glock 30 has really got me fooled me into thinking it's the best pistol I've ever owned.

I believe the Desert Eagle is the most overrated pistol. Sure, it's a high quality firearm, but it's way too heavy to be practical.

Actually Rebeldon, Glock has pulled off the most successful marketing in firearms manufacturing history.

My vote for the most overrated gun is the Glock

One really doesn't get the feeling they're a bunch of shooter/competitor/collectors over at GlockTalk.
Adequately accurate, very reliable, light, rugged, weatherproof? Sounds like a Ruger P-95 to me. Oh wait, we forget something.....affordable.;)

Who said anything about GlockTalk?

(I've owned Ruger semi-autos, J. Parker. You're right, they used to cost the same as Glocks. I'd not feel naked with a Ruger, the Glock is just more rustproof, less bulky in any given caliber, and lighter, also lacks the long trigger reset that plagues the Rugers. The P-91DAO I had was one of my favorites, but was less than fond of 135gr bullets and 155gr Hydrashoks; it was 100% with everything else. My P-89 wasn't real keen on some of the 147gr stuff too. Great guns for the money, though; rugged and the .45 Rugers are darned accurate. I've recommended them to many people with a clean conscience and would probably label them one of the most underrated pistols.)

Sounds like a name for a good topic to compliment this one: "Most Underrated Pistols". We'd probably see alot of Ruger, CZ (underrated based on price not rep), Makarov (see note on CZ), Bersa, Charles Daly, Taurus (steel frame only) and then the requisite bashing of said brands. Though I won't be the one responsible for posting such a thread.

My list of overrated:
-Kimber may have just been added. I love them but they aren't cheap and the newer ones sound like trouble.
-any 1911 over $1000 (anything more than a pre-series II Kimber or a Springfield as those two are good enough that I have trouble believing anything else is THAT much better).
-in comparison to CZ and Ruger any other full sized pistol that costs more. You won't beat either of these on accuracy (at least the .45 version of the Ruger fits here) or reliablity and the CZ will hold its own in the fit and finish dept against anyone.
-SIG and HK in comparison to Glock, ok Glock isn't better but it costs 10-20% less than SIG and HK and they are not 10-20% better than Glock (they are probably just a tad better than Glock in quality). That said I like and do plan to buy SIGs (shot a SIG 239 yesterday that was incredible) but I just don't think the price is justified in comparison to the less expensive Glock. I do dislike HKs (flame away).
-does Beretta belong here, depends on the day you ask. Though I will certainly buy one eventually.
