Monastery raided by ATF, firearms confiscation

In response to carguychris in post 3*--

I didnt know #1 is illegal anywhere. (In rereading if handgund involved, perhaps) If handguns, wouldnt charges be filed??

#2 Sounds like you do or have worked for ATF..

From post #36
I had a TSA officer rifle through my billfold last week in an airport. Bag Checks? All for it. Traveler screening? All for it. X-Rays? All for it. Going through my wallet pulling out my license, credit cards, etc after I had been through the X-Ray----over the top.

It is all way over the top. I get to fly in 2 weeks and we will see.
All the safety could be supplied by profiling at much less harrasement and cost. Which grandma ever brought a bomb anywhere in her shoes or body cavity??

One small point if I may.

I've yet to see that he has been charged with any crime.

One would think that if the gendarmes were playing fast and loose with due process, or were hopelessly biased, he would at least be charged with a crime or two...

Typical ATF target. Easy, low threat target. Gets the numbers up for increasing the budget.

They ignore hard targets, like drug dealers, gangs and general thugs.

You must remember that ATF agents generally are the least qualified of all federal law enforcement officials. Their qualifications are only slightly above those of a TSA screener.
