Blackrifle, calling members here who are not celebrating this man's death "wimps" is uncalled for.

Now, all I know about the man is what I have seen on the news, and what I have read here, so I will defer to those like you who familiar with this guy.

But I have to ask you a question. Hitler, Stalin, and Mao?? Aren't you getting a bit carried away in your comparison? I don't know about Mao, but Hitler and Stalin combined are responsible for what, 30 or 40 million deaths? It's just a suggestion, Blackrifle, that you step back for a moment to gain a little perspective. The guy is not gonna sit in any senate seat or governor's chair ever again, and I wholeheartedly agree that is good. Very good. But, personal value judgements aside, the man is dead. No matter what you thought of him, he has a family. If that observation requires any elaboration, then it would be pointless for me to try to reason any further.

Gunslinger,

You are way too cynical! Maybe the ballot computers in Saint Louis County *accidentally* went down with the Prop. B vote was tied! Yeah, that could be it.

Jeff, your way with words is without peer. Again, I stand amazed.

MikeH, Glad to know how "feeling" you are toward a tyrant. Perhaps that's why you must now leave Britain for America to shoot, and are thinking of moving here permanently. Perhaps if more Brits had the b*lls to stand up to their tyrants, rather than planting big sloppy smooches on them, you people wouldn't be in the mess you're in....

Again, may the SOB find his rest in the 9th level of hell.

Just my humble opinion, of course....

As governor of MO, Carnahan's antics didn't effect me directly. So I had no reason to wish him ill.
As a potential senator to the US he posed a very serious threat, especially in the company of Schumer, Feinstein, etc.
The only reason I can see for allowing him some grace in his demise was that he didn't have the chance to screw the rest of us yet.
In all honesty, how many of us would be saying nice or respectful things about Clinton if AF-1 took a nosedive into the Atlantic on his return trip from the Middle East?

The NTSB inspector on the crash site said that no parts of the plane were found bigger than an egg (holding her hand in an "O" shape). This would mean that the late Governor became the equivalent of Campbell's Chunky Beef Soup. A fitting end to such a miserably corrupted life in politics.

And may I add, a much more fitting end than to be felled by a 7.62 x 51 in these times of sensational journalistic opportunism. The crash makes any foul play disappear into a one hundred yard radius of Campbell's Chunky Beef Soup. No harm, no foul. End of story.

Save the hogs for another day.

FWIW, highly anecdotal - My wife says that while channel surfing, she heard a TV newscaster say, "He (Carnahan) will be missed, but not by many" and thought it was unusual for a reporter to say that.

Maybe he's from Missouri.

So much for TFL'S = High Road" = mission statement... :(

Blackrifle: Ever hear the word "Tact" as applied to this type of situation?

No, guess not... when someone gets kicks out of the death of another human being.. speaks volumes about that person.

Whatever.

The fact is that one of the king's men is now dead, and not by our hands.

It creates a greater opportunity to place someone in that position who will respect their oath, the Constitution, and individual freedom.

That is a cause for celebration.

(Sigh!)

I go outside to prune my petunias and when I come back we're having a bit of a snit.

Shame, shame. :(
