Missouri governor killed in plane crash.
Yea baby! What a great blessing for the State of Missouri. The bastard Carnahan dies a violent death, and rightfully so.
For years the good citizens of this state have lived under the Carnahan regime. Anti-gun, pro-abortion, pro partial-birth abortion.
How many citizens and future citizens have been murdered due to Carnahan's policies?
Never more can this piece of human garbage hold political office. Never more can he foist his far left political views on the populace.
Oh grand and glorious day! May the celebration begin!

At least this will be one we won't have to worry about getting in and maybe the ones that was going to vote for Gore and him, maybe this will keep them out of the polls. We could only hope. They just said on CNN that since it is less than one month from the election his name has to remain on the ballot and people can still vote for him but they don't know what they will do if he wins, at least we know he can do less harm like this if he wins than he would of done the other way.

Fascist pol dead...?

Kewl... May he descend to the 9th level of hell. (Question: had he procreated yet?)

Welcome to TFL Blackrifle.

Let me tell y'all 'about good ol' Mel. When Missourians right to CCW was placed on the ballot here April 6, 1999 Mel stated he would veto it if passed. Then after the election was lost due to blatant ballot fraud Mel refused to certify or decertify the election....in direct violation to the state election statutes, which require this be done within 30 days after the election. Because of that Missourians were unable to challenge the election. You see Mel was not just happy to try to veto Missourians right to self defense but willing to be involved in ballot fraud and then break state law to keep us unarmed. Good ol' Mel also fought for various anti-coonstitution bills such as the one to ban any rifle with a detachable magazine. The senate race was very close and there was a very good chance that he was going to take this brand of politics to Washington next month. So today is not only a banner day for Missourians but for the nation as well. A criminal died last night in a plane crash. Certainly not a stateman.

Hey, I just had to call a buddy who was traveling in SF... He hates it, by the way...

Carnahan managed to get a lot of folks killed or injured. I'm sorry that we had to take the election this way, but heck...

Terridarri - Carnahan's name will remain on the ballot. If incumbent Republican Senator John Ashcroft loses to Carnahan, the Governor of Missouri will appoint his replacement. Since Carnahan was also the Governor, that means that the Lt. Gov. will appoint the replacement if Carnahan wins.

Those Missouri residents who value their RKBA need to keep campaigning; because the battle isn't over yet.

Listen guys gloating over anyones death is just a little too ghoulish for me. I might disagree with a man's views, but come on. There are people somewhere in MO that are hurting because of this. Hate the message, not the man.

I'm not from Missouri, but if he was elected by a majority then what makes you think those same blind sheep won't vote for him again? They probably go into the booth and pull democrat right down the line! :)

You can only hope that half will blindly pull and half will remember he's dead and vote for someone else, resulting in a win for the pro-RKBA candidate.

Finally, I have to agree with Crash. How many other innocents were in that plane crash? It's not nice to be happy that someone is dead just because they didn't agree with you politically. We hope to win with our ideas, not our emotions.

I always worry when my wife or myself have to fly on business. There's always a feeling of "this could be the last time I see this person." No one should be happy for a plane crash. :(

Now it's a different matter if he comes door to door with armed escorts breaking, entering and confiscating firearms.

The first step is registration, the second step is confiscation, the final step is subjugation.

It has always been my position that if someone is a low life alive they are no different when dead. Too many times I have heard people speak ill of someone alive one day and praise them after the day they die. I will not talk behind someones back....I take to their face first. Nor do I even attempt to speak well of someone whom I did not care for alive once they are dead.
The fact, morbid though it may be, the world, the constitution and American freedom is better off today with this criminal disguised as a man of people is dead.
I'm sorry if that sounds offensive to some but it is the way I honestly feel and I make no apologies for those sentiments. He was a traitor to the constitution and his treachory was only going to become worse and further reaching.

Hitler took an active role in killing innocent people.

Carnahan took an inactive one.

Anyone cry when Hitler died, other than the Germans? Don't think so.

I feel nothing but relief when an enemy of personal freedom dies.

Would I rather they had a change of heart? Yup. But I'll take the alternative if the first ain't going to happen.

Removal by the order of Nature.

Here are some details:
ST. LOUIS, — Missouri Governor Mel Carnahan was killed Monday evening as a plane carrying him crashed in rain and fog shortly after takeoff from St. Louis, reported a relative of another passenger on the aircraft.

Carnahan, governor of Missouri for eight years, was running for the Senate and had been locked in a tight race with incumbent Republican Sen. John Ashcroft.

Ashcroft's campaign says it was calling off the campaigning indefinitely, out of respect for the family.

Carnahan's death makes it extremely unlikely that the Democrats, who had only a slim change of doing so anyway, will regain the Senate in November's elections.

The governor and two other people — Chris Sifford, a longtime political advisor, and Carnahan's son Randy, who was listed on the flight manifest as the pilot — had been aboard a twin-engine Cessna that crashed soon after takeoff about 7:30 p.m. Monday.
The governor had been headed for New Madrid, Missouri, to attend a fund-raiser that had been scheduled to begin at 8 p.m.

At 11 p.m., the governor's office called the lieutenant governor and the state treasurer to return to the Statehouse, in Jefferson City, immediately for an emergency, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said a plane crashed about 25 miles south of St. Louis in a hilly, wooded area. The patrol said the debris from the crash was scattered, making identification of the plane difficult.

Human remains had been reportedly found, but identification was said to be difficult.
Tom Hunter, who lives near the crash site, told St. Louis television station KMOV he heard the plane flying over.

"I thought, 'What a crazy person in this kind of weather.' Next thing, sounded like it was in a very steep dive, the engine was just screaming." He said he heard a loud explosion and the sky turned red. "That was it. It was total silence. I told my wife to call 911."

St. Louis' Washington University is the site of Tuesday's third and final presidential debate.

So the pilot MAY have been innocent, the other fatality certainly wasn't.

Blackrifle: Your post is in very poor taste..

Regardless of his views, have some compassion for his death and his realatives.

Crash, I hear you, and emotionally I feel the same.

However, this fellow's reputation is very bad on personal freedom. Things in our country are serious enough today that I will not mourn men of his ilk. Our country is better off without him, and if this helps MO get CCW, it also means that lives will be saved in the future.

Any man who takes self defense away from innocent men, women and children is an animal we can do without. Such men effectively aid the murderers and rapists in our society, and we should not mourn their passing, IMHO.

While Blackrifle came on a bit strong, I can tell you that right now I wish I had someone to High Five with. I use this board as a cyber stand-in.

It's a bummer that others died also, but Christian charity towards my enemies was wrung out of me a long time ago.

These petty tyrants only become greater ones with the passage of time. In a political environment their work outlives them.

Now, if only the Schumer/Feinstein/et al crowd would book a flight through the Bermuda Triangle. ;)

Poor taste; maybe, harsh; maybe, but

Ding Dong the witch is dead... I do feel sorrow and pitty for the other people and the families of those who died on that flight, but as far as the good Gov goes; he can rot in hell. He lived on the backs of the people while making sure that their rights as human beings were being slowly shredded.

I too am very uncomfortable about gloating that the Filthy Thief is gone in this way...

Far better it would be for him to have lost the election in shame.

Man, I hope that some antigun journalist doesn't stumble onto this site and quote some of these posts in a column in a major newspaper and list this site as his references. We would really look good.

Well, one less. Its bad for the pilot, but may the Governor rest in peace or burn in hell.

But the day a plane of antis "buys the state farm", preferably filled with the "Crème de la crème" of freedom-haters, I'll open a bottle of nice champaign for my American friends.

I don't have Shiner here, though. :)
