Missed the boat.

There have been plenty of public opinion polls conducted and that's what the people over there say.

Do you have any sources other than the captive polling arm (World Public Opinion.org) of a foundation-funded political policy think-tank (Program on International Policy Attitudes), that is itself a joint effort of a foundation-funded policy advocacy organization (Center on Policy Attitudes) and an academic political policy think-tank (Center for International and Security Studies at Maryland)?

Could it be that the good doctor and the policy for international control or whatever it is might be slanted just a little bit one way?!?:D

It will be quite difficult to attempt to negotiate matters involving deeply-rooted religious beliefs. If you know a specific way to accomplish it, let us know someday.

I'm not against negotiating with moderate Muslims; I'd encourage it. But I won't expect the negotiations to have much (if any) impact on terrorism. And giving concessions to terrorists will only be perceived as weakness on our part.

Let the well-poisoning commence! :)

How 'bout this: You don't like the data? Refute it. What a novel concept....

I won't expect the negotiations to have much (if any) impact on terrorism.
I would. It's the corrolary of the mechanism in place. Besides, it's worked before.

And giving concessions to terrorists will only be perceived as weakness on our part.
Strawman. Nobody said anything about "giving concessions to terrorists".

The ability to actually format, and then implement these surveys still requires the co-operation of the host country. I find it a bit deceiving that we would expect that the "men on the street" questioned hadn't been vetted by the host countries intelligence services.

Another prevailing truth is that the media of these countries are routinely government controlled, and opinions are formed by the citizenry from that control. Many Middle Eastern countries fear a revolution inspired by unlimited information about the West, and actively portray the United States in a negative light.

The United States has been "exploiting" the Arabs for oil? Maybe sixty years ago. The simple fact is that today's oil-producing countires are also home to obscenely rich governments and officials, while the people remain so poor and live in squalor. How does that make the U.S. responsible?

The sheer lunacy of attempting to formulate policy dependent on foreign government manipulated studies is bad enough. Expecting the average citizen in a country which actively slants it's information policies to deter further in-roads of Western thought into that area borders on maniacal.

There is no need to be redundant.

Large and Growing Numbers of Muslims Reject Terrorism, Bin Laden
These findings emerge from polls conducted in Muslim nations this spring by two organizations: the Pew Global Attitudes Project, which regularly conducts multinational surveys, and Terror Free Tomorrow (TFT), which studies attitudes toward terrorism around the world.

Terror Free Tomorrow promotes a new strategic vision: leading the fight against terror by winning the popular support that empowers global terrorists.

What a coincidence - an organization's poll findings match its goals.
