Midway USA, etc..

I have been ordering from Midway since they first started as a small outfit and sold reloading components only. I have ordered everything including ammo, powder, & primers from them.

They have since grown substantially and I can only attribute their growth to superior customer service. I have rarely had to send stuff back to them and when I did, I received a prompt refund or replacement.

IMHO, there in none better than Midway.

Midway is as good as they come for internet sales. They also stand behind their merchandise. Excellent customer service dept as well. A+++ company.

watchout for shipping costs

I use Magtech ammo and have had no problems. I use to use midwayusa, but as noted by previous poster, one can get hosed with their shipping practice. They charge a fee for low order total, a shippingt fee and then shippingt costs. I found this not a problem, until I ordered several items and they were out on some and thus shipped as backordered items became available. Multiple shippments I found not economical via midwayusa.

I made a large order with Midway last week. In the order I had primers. Midway informed me that – because I live in the People’s Republic of Massachusetts – they couldn’t even send me primers! So ammo is out of the question. However, they called me on my cell phone and made sure I understood why they were doing what they were doing. You don’t get much better service than that! I know that I will frequent Midway!

Yes, it's odd to find basically nothing but positives about Midway. I have ordered about a two dozen items, at least, over the past two or three years and never any kind of problem. I just make sure they have the item "In Stock" before I order. It says that when you bring the item up.

I have had my share of issues with them, but they still get my money. With a single exception*, they satisfactorily took care of any issues that arose with my orders.

*The single exception was a series of used parts they were getting from Browning, but being listed as "new" by Midway. I went through 5 recoil spring / guide rod assemblies, before I had enough usable parts to build one I was willing to put in my pistol. However, my battle with Midway ended with a full refund, all of the assemblies being free, and Midway discontinuing some of the parts and re-listing others with a warning that they may be used parts from a Browning repair center.

Occasionally, you may encounter a customer service rep that is having a bad day, and is no fun to work with (like any business with more than 20 employees). However, they have taken care of me enough times that I don't hold it, or the used Browning parts fiasco, against them. Like I said, I still shop there.

Another Big Yes for Midwayusa.
They really care about their customers.
For example, awhile ago their web site was so slow that I had to give up.
Figuring that was cause for complaint, (the first one in decades of buying there), I sent an email about not being able to get anywhere on the site.
Very quickly, I got a return email apologizing for the problem and saying that they knew about it, and were working on it as we speak.
And the email was from the owner, Mr. Potterfield.
How about that for taking their customers seriously.
And the web site was fixed the next time I tried it, too.
It's always the first place that I look for anything.

Ok, then!

I don't think I have ever seen so many uniformly positive reviews of anything
before.

That settles that!

One more thing, if items are listed as available when you order them, is there still a chance that you may be hosed with multiple shipments?

Of course there's a chance
Very slim one & i'd bet you get a phone call

Love/Hate relationship

Well, I drive by the place 2x's a day to and from work. They send me flyers with special prices on stuff I really would like at prices I am powerless to avoid. Then they allow me to pick it up with no shipping charges. They routinely have it ready in under 3 hrs.

From the time I click the cruise control "off" at 70mph:D, take the exit, cross over, drive down the road, park, go to the door, give them the name/order #, sign-off, get out, lug the giant box to the car, get loaded, out of the parking lot, back on the road, across the overpass, down the ramp and click the cruise back "on" at 70mph:D. It has ALWAYS been under 5 minutes, seems like 3:50 was the actual number the day I timed myself.

What is not to love. OH - little know fact if you are signed up with them and place an order on your birthday, 10% off. And... from their site.

MidwayUSA Customer Round-Up: $5,578,571.05
Since 1992, we have asked Customers to Round-Up the total of each order and donate the change to the NRA/ILA. We send these donations to the NRA/ILA National Endowment for the Protection of the 2nd Amendment. The NRA/ILA doesn't spend your money - they only spend the interest from it - so the Endowment continues to grow each year.

Total Round-Up: $8,084,388.22*

Need we say more?

Midway USA really is atop shelf company. Great selection, quality products, fair prices and great customer service. What's not to like?

*Also, Larry Potterfield sponsors my favorite TV program, "Tactical Arms" with Larry Vickers. That alone gets him 4 stars!

Yup that was my complaint. Also I ordered a recoil pad for a Remington 1100, wood stock. It arrived and did not fit my Remington 1100, wood stock shotgun. No correction by midwayusa ... simply it is listed as for a Remington 1100, wood stock. I never got any phone call regarding either incident.

Other than those two incidents, I liked shopping on midwayusa. I guess somedays you eat the bear, and some days the bear eats you. Anyway those two incidents stuck in my craw, so I search elsewhere before going to midwayusa.

Another very satisfied Midway customer. Even though I live in the same state, and only about 100 miles away, it amazes me that my orders usually arrive by UPS the next day!:D:D:D
Also, if you have an FFL, either dealer or C&R let them know and you will get a discount on most items.

I live near them and pick stuff up too. I had one problem and they made it right as best they could. I will definitely keep ordering from them. Besides, like the man said, they sent fliers with sales that are killer!:)

I've spent thousands of dollars at Midway over the past ten years and always get superior service. My only complaints are that they seem to be more and more often out of stock on some items and I'm getting a lot of back orders. I've always had trouble with their web site so I use the hard copy catalog and order by phone. Still, they are my #1, GoTo supplier and I rarely order from anyone else. I've had excellent service from Graf and Sinclair too.

I have been using midwayusa for a few years now for a lot of my gun related items and couldn't be happier. Prices are decent and they have never goofed up any of my orders. Also I returned a couple items I was not happy with and they took them back no questions asked, gave me a full refund including return shipping. I have spent hours on their website. They have a wide selection and I like to use the wishlist function while browsing.

I purchased ammo from Midway in the past and was always pleased with their reliability ... have gotten away from online ammo purchases because the shipping charges are so high because of the weight ... there are some online retailers you might want to check out first if you're buying in bulk; I get all my large purchases now from ammoman.com ... their prices are in the ballpark and they don't charge shipping or Texas sales tax ...
