Miami's Cocaine Wars

I was six years old in 1990, so I guess I can't comment on what I'd have done in 1980something. I'd probably have called the A-Team (if you have a problem; if no one else can help....)

I will (hopefully) be a cop by this time next year, and will try to carry my AR-15 carbine in the car, and an M&P .45 on my hip. Even here in Mayberry, we have serious crime. When I was a junior in high school we had a driving shoot-out between bank robbers and our chief of police-- and this is in a town of about 850 people. My buddy's dad was a town cop at the time and he really did keep an FN FAL in the trunk of his car. In addition to a Mossberg 590 and a Savage 110 heavy barrel in .308win. Paranoid? Not on the day when robbers drove down mainstreet firing at the police car.

Music was fantastic compared to todays. Singers could sing, REALLY sing. Queen of Disco, etc. Miami Vice had great groups, or, groups that had one, great hit, and, they were in the show...

Got the entire set of 4/5 years (over 100 episodes) of Miami Vice on DVD recently.

The BEST programme of the 80's PERIOD.

Great cars, music, clothes, and guns. What more do you need.

I can one up the mayor's car breakin,

some time back, mid ninetys, the District Attorney was mugged, he identified himself and the punks still mugged him, he had been district attorney for some 25 years at that point and was on television all the time, EVERYONE knew who he was, to you that may not, he is Harry Connick Jr.'s father, Harry Connick!
Some brazen huh, of course the punks were quickly apprehended, I guess when the 911 call comes in and it's the D.A. on the phone, things happen.

I'd want to carry whatever it was that Tony Montano had in the final scene of Scarface so that, at appropriate moments I could shout "say hello to my leetle friend!"

Well Jeez guys, if we'r gonna make guesses and suggestions on arming the Miami cops (or any other cops) in a battle zone, why not mount an M2 on each squad car. Power, Penetration, Range and definitely awesome fear factor.
Sadly our cops are usually restricted by politically correct politicians, greedy lawyers and top brass that is more concerned with making the mayor look good than helping the cop on the street. There are some bright spots, but think hard about what conditions they work under.
