May have bought an H&K lemon?

Every owners manual for every new gun I have bought has stated that the firearm be cleaned before first use.

That is not something I've found in any of my HK manuals, nor any other I own that I can recall. I even looked at a few.

Update to now ZombieThread.
Just thought I'd post an update to the thread. I was finally able to go to pasture and shoot the USP again. Ran 500 rounds through it in one session without a single hiccup. That being said I drenched the thing in oil and locked the slide open a few nights prior as suggested by a previous poster (thank you, DHart) and all seems to be fine :D. And to address round pressures previously discussed on this thread, 200 of the rounds were WWB.

Although I bought the pistol because I missed my previous USP .45 that ran 100% for over 2000 rounds.

I never divest myself of any pistol intended for self-defense that has proven itself to be reliable. Extreme reliability in a semi-auto can sometimes be hard to come by-Third Generation Smiths, in my experience, being the thankful exception.

If you're referring to S&W M&P pistols, I couldn't agree more. I hold a very high regard for full size and compact size M&Ps (I've got five of them between those two sizes - mostly .40S&W, with one 9mm). Awesome pistols. And, reliable.

Lonewolf, thanks for responding back to the thread. As I was reading through, I thought "oh great another thread with no outcome".

Glad everything is working fine now.
