Marlin 1894 or rossi 92

Marlin...

One screw and you can disassemble it and clean it from the breech.

There is some question of quality with the new ones since Remington took Marlin production over... If I were you I would find a nice used one at least a few years old...

Marlin sweep :)

Best use in SASS/CAS due to the Microgroove barrel!! VERY precise!!

It'll hold its value far better than a Rossi ever will.

played with both the Rossi is a sharp looking gun Marlins are good too I got a 336 and does well

Marlin's QC has gone in the tank and the single .44 Marlin I had was not particularly accurate. Our Rossi 92, an old Braztech .45 Colt, has been an excellent pistol-caliber carbine.

The Rossi's main liability is usually the OEM sights, which are easily (if not inexpensively) replaced. I really like the one we have and wouldn't trade it for a Marlin.

I have agree with Sarge Marlin does not make things like they used to anymore thus why if I buy another lever action it will more than likely be a Rossi or a Henry

I am hearing good things about the Henry. My son bought one a couple of years ago and he really likes that little rifle. His has been trouble-free.

Another rossi fan here. I had a 20" M92 .44 for years. It was accurate, reliable and fun to shoot. An added bonus was that mine was an XP model which allowed a magazine-tube loading option. In a fit of stupidity, I sold it to a buddy to finance another soulless black rifle:( I'm keeping my eyes peeled for a rossi 16" .357 now.

I bought the Marlin! it was used the price was ok 450 OTD! as far as Henery their 44 mag. is about 700+! I had a 22 and that was a good rifle

I would look for a older Marlin in good shape as there are many reports of problems with the newer ones, but in any case I would go for a Marlin.

Puma rifle

Well let me go against the grain and say that I am very happy with my Puma/Rossi/Interarms 1892.It is a 357 mag but I doubt that one chambered in 44 mag would be much different.I put about 100 rounds thru it last week, a couple of 180 grainers to test a hunting load then switched to cast 125 grainers for plinking. It shoots okay with those but it favors a heavier bullet.Mine is nearing 20 years old now so it doesn't have the safety to block the hammer.A 38 spl 158gr roundnose kicks less than a 22 and is very accurate in this rifle.
