Magpul leaving Colorado?????

Magpul leaving Colo.??

I would love to see Magpul move closer to me. With my background in CAD and CAM software I'm sure we could benefit from each other, lol.

I very much hope that Magpul packs their bags and hightails it out of CO. I would not stay in a state that caused myself or the legitimate business that I conducted to be regarded as a criminal entity, or as a substandard member of the community.

I hope that all of their employees feel the same way.

Colorado Governor Plans to Sign Gun Control Bills, Magpul Packs its Bags

Colorado-based Magpul Industries is moving its operations elsewhere, taking hundreds of jobs from the state. Magpul released the following statement:

Apparently Gov Hickenlooper has announced that he will sign HB 1224 on Wednesday. We were asked for our reaction, and here is what we said:

We have said all along that based on the legal problems and uncertainties in the bill, as well as general principle, we will have no choice but to leave if the Governor signs this into law. We will start our transition out of the state almost immediately, and we will prioritize moving magazine manufacturing operations first. We expect the first PMAGs to be made outside CO within 30 days of the signing, with the rest to follow in phases. We will likely become a multi-state operation as a result of this move, and not all locations have been selected. We have made some initial contacts and evaluated a list of new potential locations for additional manufacturing and the new company headquarters, and we will begin talks with various state representatives in earnest if the Governor indeed signs this legislation. Although we are agile for a company of our size, it is still a significant footprint, and we will perform this move in a manner that is best for the company and our employees.

It is disappointing to us that money and a social agenda from outside the state have apparently penetrated the American West to control our legislature and Governor, but we feel confident that Colorado residents can still take the state back through recalls, ballot initiatives, and the 2014 election to undo these wrongs against responsible Citizens.

Magpul leaving Colo.??

^ I'm so glad to see this. I know Magpul leaving Colorado is not going to have that much of an impact on the state, but it does send a message.

It was in the Denver Post yesterday that MagPul was in fact leaving, but in stages. They said the first Pmag would be produced outside Colorado within 30 days of the Governor signing the bills.

Michael Bane is cancelling scheduled Outdoor Channel shoots and will not scedule further filming in CO.

There is a call to boycot CO hunting and fishing, as well. I'm in ..... I did not spend a ton of money fishing last summer there, but this year I won't spend a dime I don't have to in that state.

The people in Colorado that rely on the hunting and fishing industry are by a large margin pro-gun, any boycott would only hurt those who are on your side.

There are 60 some County sherrifs in Co. who have said this bill is totally unenforceable, mainly because the one bill does not give any provisions for individuals to access NICS, not allowing FFL holders to charge more than the specified amount for conducting the check will also stop most FFL holders from doing the paperwork, maybe that was the intent to begin with.

Lawsuits are already in the make.

There are 64 counties in Colorado, 62 county sherrifs oppose the law as it is written but do support some kind of "enhanced" background check.

Magpul will do just fine wherever they end up.

hunters are also boycotting the state due to the new laws

Including myself. A large group of us had an elk hunt scheduled. I calculated all my costs and sent it to CDNR and the tourist department. Probably doesn't matter much but I figure each dollar they know about the better.

Move to Texas

Somebody should tell these arms and accessories manufacturers that TEXAS governor Rick Perry is rolling out the red carpet.

Here in Texas we love good profitable businesses that are "Politically Incorrect" in other states. And we sure love our guns.

As Rick Perry stated during is presidential campaign, he believes in gun control "use both hands".

Breaking news(05/01/2013)...

breaking news alert...

I just read a new media report on Fox News that CO based MagPul will now start to pull out of the state.

The Fox News article says MagPul execs will release more details at the big NRA event in Texas & in the near future. MagPul also confirmed that major changes will start very soon...

I do not own or use any MagPul products at this time but Id buy a few PMags & I like the smart-phone cases.

Pity to be sure. I guess they got tired of being called what amounts to the "N" word by those in Denver.

Living in CO. as I do, I have been walking the recall petitions around and doing my part. What will come of it. *shrug* We shall see.

http://www.foxnews.com/us/2013/04/30/magpul-stops-making-gun-magazines-in-colorado/

A Colorado gun accessories manufacturer that vowed to leave the state because of a new gun control law says it is now making some items out-of-state.

Erie-based Magpul revealed the move in a Facebook posting late Monday in response to a customer question. The posting said PMAG magazines, which can hold 10 to 30 rounds, are being made outside of Colorado for the first time. Sights are also being made elsewhere

No word yet on where this "other" location is.

PS: To those who own AR's and do not own a PMAG, buy one, you will never look back.
