Magnum research Baby Desert Eagle

DaddySeal,

I loved the way the slide felt in the store. Once I get it home and take her apart and clean her and lube her up I will see how it feels. The gun felt so solid and dependable in the store, that is what sold me. I was prepared to get a much more expensive gun but I fell in love.

Baby Eagle 40

I purchased a a Don Hume model PCCH IWB holster for my Baby Eagle .45 in 2006, and it's one of my main daily carry weapons. It's very comfortable to ear all day. Here's the link should you want to research the holster. Enjoy you will love the Baby Eagle! Oh and I've enclosed a photo of my Baby Eagle in it's holster.

Yes BabyEagle40,
there always will be belt holsters that will handle almost any size, especially of "moderate size" as the "standard Baby"....if they ride high on the hip/waist.

justin10985,
"The price"?.....I hardly think $475 is high for that kind of quality. JMO

I found a used one in 40. I fell in love with the thing after shooting it it has the smoothest trigger Ive ever touched and at 20 yards free hand I can put them all in about a half dollar area. As for holster I have one for a para lda double stack 45 that pulls it in to the small of your back and the bde fits well in there.

So I am contemplating sending this gun to Magnum Research for a custom finish (brushed chrome I believe) with wood grips. Their website says turnaround on this job is 90-120 days, and costs about 235 dollars just to refinish the gun, plus a small amount for the mags. The grips are either 40 or 50. Is this turnaround time normal for refinishing a gun like this? Do you think they are being careful in their estimate for 3-4 months to finish and it actually takes less?

Love It

First pistol I ever bought was the .40S&W Baby Eagle. It is a great firearm.

Magnum Research Inc, is currently selling a holster on their website for their firearms. It is a Cordura holster, they also sell a right handed shoulder rig. They say that holsters size numbers 15 and 16 by Cordura will fit.

As for magazines, I discovered that Cheaper Than Dirt sells the Magnum Research mags cheaper then Magnum Research, Inc does. I also ran across EAA manufactured mags on another website, which are far cheaper. The only thing about those is that I do not know if they function well or not in the pistol. If any person knows anything about those EAA mags let me know, for I am very curious.

I thought I would pass along the info since many of us Baby Eagle owners are always trying to find things for our pistols.

I bought my wife the 9mm polymer compact model last year and she loves it.
I came across a deal for a 9mm steel frame compact last month and scooped it up.

I got a new Fobus holster for it and carry it occasionally, but it is a tad heavy.

I didn't get mine back yet - I show that I shipped it on Feb 5th overnight - so this coming wednesday will be two weeks.

I am guessing I am still a couple weeks away from seeing mine and posting pix.

Check out Hakan's Custom Grips...if they don't have them, they could make them for you, and their grips look really nice.

Since the Baby Eagle is a CZ clone, would the grips for the CZ fit the baby eagle? Anybody know?

According to a call I made to Magmum Research, the CZ grips will work on the full-size steel frame 9 & 40. I had called to see if they'd fit my .45 and the answer was no...

Hey BabyEagle - I sent it to Rich at Canyon Creek for some plastic surgery - a facelift if you must.

I did a swap with a guy for what I have and when I got the pistol, mechanically it was a 9 - cosmetically it was about a 7 or so (in my standards).

So I sent the entire unit to Rich to have him put a brushed nickel Gunkote on it - above that it's stock (except for the rubbers I installed from Magnum Research).

Incidentally I got a call from Rich today - he is hoping to get it in as part of the batch that is going late this week or weekend, so I should see it next week.
