looking for accuracy

Is it just me or is the OP making no sense at all. Several people have tried to explain the proper way to understand accuracy, ie., it is relative to one's needs and desires, but the light does not seem to be coming on. More specificity, critical thinking and understanding are required here. Until then, no one can really help you. You must be willing to think and study so you know what you are talking about, and I mean that as in you understand your subject matter, not as in I am being a smart ass. Good luck.

Man, what a thread! OP, most any defensive pistol's sights aren't regulated for 25 yards, much less 50. 50 FEET is the normal max. distance. I shot bowling pin timed drills for three years in the eighties. The distances were 7, 10, 15, and 25 yards, with both revolver and auto. Most people can't even imagine hitting one at 50 yards, much less knocking them off the rail. You'll need an Encore, Contender, Wichita, XP100, or maybe a good Desert Eagle for that! Unreliable?:eek:Never heard of it.

The equipment DOES make a difference.

I am not a greatly experienced target shooter and don't consider myself a particularly accurate one (yet). But I am far more accurate with my Ruger CG100 than with my S&W Model 60.

My last time at the range I put 50 rounds through my Kahr PM9, and I was all over the place at 7 yards. Then I put 50 rounds through my STI TargetMaster and all 50 rounds were in a grouping the size of a half dollar.

Sight radius and trigger pull make a ton of difference, in my experience.
