Bart, I know that. You know that. Anyone who has bedded both actions knows that. BUT, I heard from listening to Jimmy Joe and Bobby Joe (talking bout their huntun rifles) that Remington is more accurate. So, Remington is more accurate.
I only have one truly accurate 700 action and it is in a sleeve with a flat bottom. An old gunsmith with much more patience than I have did the sleeve work.
Snyper, the predecessors of those rifles existed. With the exception of the BR action, the accu trigge(no real improvement) and the Axis(definitely not an improvement), nothing is really new with Savage. Cosmetics is about it. I have 4 Savage Varmint rifles made in the late 70's to early 80's. .22-250, .243, .223, .223. I honestly believe they would shoot with my Bat/Lilja custom if they were chambered in 6br like it is.
