Libertarians pushing for opening of U.S. borders??

We need people who work rather than sit on the couch and bray for welfare checks like the native-born do

So no Mexican immigrants are on the dole here?

Anywho the Mexican immigrants are welcome here. We need people who work rather than sit on the couch and bray for welfare checks like the native-born do.

America now takes in more people then all other countries combined, the
cost of immigration in 2002 was reported to be 68 billion for taxpayers.

For anyone to believe that illegal immigration is not a huge cost to joe average taxpayer has his head in the sand or is hiring illegals for his own
personal gain. The only people who benefit from illegal immigration are
the wealthy on both sides of the border.

I suggest to you folks who love open borders hang a sign on "your" home
that you will take in all people, feed, provide medical care, schooling, etc.
Then I'm sure you will be very happy with the results. :barf:

The problem is the PEOPLE of Mexico, they have a corrupt government and appear to be willing to do nothing about it. They then come here for a quote better life. The second problem is a large number of these illegals are illegal for a reason, CRIMINAL RECORDS and would not be allowed here to begin with. There is no reason Mexico could not be a prosperous nation with low crime except for corruption which is an accepted way of life south of the border!

We have prisons with many illegals that commited crimes that are then deported, return, commit more crime, go to prison, deported and on and on! Sadly our border problem with the present policy is beyond enforcing and due to size may never be. What about the ranchers that have their property vandalized time and again by these people, have they no rights as American citizens? Imigration in this country in the beginning was a legal process, America profitted from these LEGAL citizens to be.

Now we have anyone and everyone coming here and crime in the border states California included commited by these illegals is more than just a problem. My father, brother and sister moved to Cal. in the 60's my dad was a cop in L.A. and the illegals have ruined some parts of Cal.. My sister finally had enough of living in constant fear after having illegals break in her home and moved to the Florida panhandle. Another problem are the GREEDY AMERICANS who knowingly employee these illegals to save money.

We can sit here and debate all day but facts are facts, these people are victims of their own government and only THEY can stop it. They also need to learn birth control, and not have 5 or more children with zero income the same problem faced in Africa. This lifestyle only creates a hopeless future for the chilren, and throwing money at it solves nothing, This is the Liberals answer to most problems.

I feel if Americans are increasingly asked to support these people who most have no money, no skills, limited education and keep throwing money at them when they come here in the end it will kill the lower to middle class American. The American Government intices these people to come here with unearned BENEFITS, what other country offers what America offers? This is why we are flooded with an immigration problem and an ever increasing tax burden. I feel for these people, but who created the problem to begin with, it wasn't America, but we sure are paying for it! The U.S. needs to stop offering the olive branch paid for by the hard working citizens of this already overly tax burdened populice. We hear about the people of America that may not see their social security check after working their whole stinking life, seniors who can't afford medication or healthcare. We can afford to care for, feed and house illegals, where is the JUSTICE and common sense!! HOW MUCH BLOOD CAN A BLEEDING HEART AFFORD TO LOSE? Their culture and lifestyle has about ruined their country, so why not let them bring it here! Once again Mexico is the problem, and who is responsible for that problem?

The language is thing is not an issue. The United States may do everything in English, but the country has no official language.

When Italian immigrants came here, they spoke no English. The 2nd generation did however, and subsequent generations. It will be no different with Spanish.

I think we should just allow the indvidual states of Mexico to petition to become US states.... :D

glock, none that I've met, although I don't dispute that there are. I've met a bunch of native-born who suck down taxpayer dollars.

wing, what is the cost of the native-born? Do the native-born benefit anyone? If the native-born do not benefit anyone do we kick them out? If it is shown that illegal immigrants contribute far more than they consume, do the immigrants stay and the native-born leave?

When Italian immigrants came here, they spoke no English. The 2nd generation did however, and subsequent generations. It will be no different with Spanish.
It already is different. The gibberish that many of the "2nd generation" Mexicans/Central Americans speak where I live is Spanglish. It resembles English only slightly. The nitwit liberals who dominate Washington state deal with it by charging us a fortune in taxes to teach school to these punks in English and in Spanish. Unfortunately the fruitcakes don't realize these kids are illiterate in BOTH languages.

So in order to make up for it the leftists have decided to offer young people who are illegal aliens a two-fold bonus: they get to go to state colleges and universities at RESIDENT tuition rates, and they get shoved to the head of the line due to racial quotas.

So please spare me the "it will be no different" crap.

My German family members weren't taught in German.

My Danish family members weren't taught in Danish.

My English family members weren't taught in the Queen's English.

And my Sicilian family members damn sure weren't taught in Italian.

All of them wanted to be Americans. Every last one. They all learned American English. Somehow they all managed to do this in school without the help of fruitcake liberals teaching them in their "native" langauge(s).

The illegal Mexican/Central American aliens (with the exception of only TWO) that I have the misfortune of coming into contact with through my work have no desire whatsoever to be Americans in any way. Some of them I've known for over a decade. The gibberish they speak hasn't improved one iota since the day we first met, and now they have the gall to act outraged because I ignore them when they gibber at me. I'm supposed to learn their gutter language. That will be the day.

KSFreeman,

Just because someone works does not mean they are not on the dole, I used to work in a company that employed a few hundred illegal (mostly) Mexicans, Equadorians, Guatemalans, etc and they did work very hard in a dirty and humid factory but they were all also hooked up into every dole program they could tap into. Monies for food, heating, housing, medical expenses, schooling, etc you name it, if it was there they got what they could. It doesnt take a lot of math to figure out that if he is making 20k/yr in the factory is is drawing far more off the system than he is contributing, and you are the one pulling his wagon.

The real kicker is that these people also vote, and they vote for whomever is giving them the most bennies, which makes the liklihood of getting rid of doles smaller and smaller. I dont necessarily think they're evil, more that they just think it's part of the deal: they work for little money and they get bennies to make up for it.

what is the cost of the native-born? Do the native-born benefit anyone? If the native-born do not benefit anyone do we kick them out? If it is shown that illegal immigrants contribute far more than they consume, do the immigrants stay and the native-born leave?

That is, for all intents and purposes, irrelevant. Even though I would like to book out native born slugs I cannot, they do have a legal right to be here. Immigrants OTOH, do NOT have a legal right to be here, and I can take measures to prevent them from entering and I can boot them out.

I don't know how our borders could be any more open than they already are. If you live in a border state you realize quickly that there is an absolute flood. The "estimates" of a million a year crossing from Mexico are way low. I "estimate" that there are over two million a year coming into Texas alone.

How much more open can it get?

That is, for all intents and purposes, irrelevant.
Big, gaping hole in logic...

I don't know how our borders could be any more open than they already are.
The border between Washington and Oregon is open.

The border between Washington and British Columbia isn't.

Does that help?

Oh, Jammer, please do explain why bringing up something that cannot be controlled (population born here) is being compared to something we can control (people we decide to let in).

Just saying "Big, gaping hole in logic..." explains absolutely nothing, so please do so.

The border between Washington and British Columbia isn't.

I have no idea if the Northern border is secure or not. Doesn't seem likely given the length of it, how much of it is in wild country, and how few border patrol agents we have on the payroll, but Hey if you say so then it must be hermetically sealed.

But I can tell you about our Southern border - my friend it is WIDE OPEN. Yes, WIDE OPEN.

The border between Washington and Oregon is open.

The border between Washington and British Columbia isn't.

Does that help?
Yeah it's closed alright. That's why tens of thousands of tons of B.C. Bud/dope/marijuana/cheeba/etc. flood into WA every year.

LMFAO

Top crime boss Alfredo Rios Galeana, who blasted his way out of a Mexican courtroom almost two decades ago and spent nearly 19 years as a fugitive, was returned to Mexico Tuesday to face charges of robbery, homicide and assault.

Considered one of Mexico's most dangerous criminals, Rios Galeana was arrested by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents at the home he shared with his wife and children in the city of South Gate, just south of Los Angeles, on Monday and handed over to Mexican authorities.

Speaking to reporters after he was escorted off a police plane under heavy guard at the Mexico City airport, Rios Galeana said he had fled to the United States to leave his bloody past behind.

He claimed to be a changed man, saved by a religious awakening.

"Let me tell you that Jesus changed my life, and that's why I left all this," he said. "God forgives even the worst criminal."

Asked about the people he allegedly killed, he answered "I regret it with all my heart." Asked where the loot from his bank heists is now, he said: "It was all spent."

In a press statement, U.S. Ambassador Tony Garza said the arrest "is sending a message to fugitives who foolishly believe they are clever enough to evade capture."

"You will find no quarter in our country, and we will spare no expense to find you and bring you to justice," Garza said.

Mexican officials said Rios Galeana spent 15 years living under an alias as a quiet, church-going family man in a largely Mexican neighborhood of South Gate.

He had been living with his wife and three children under the alias Arturo Montoya.

In a decade-long crime spree in the 1970s and 1980s, Rios Galeana allegedly masterminded some two dozen bank robberies and six murders, including the killing of police officers.

He escaped from a courtroom in Mexico City's Southern Penitentiary on Nov. 22, 1986, one of a group of inmates freed by armed assailants who tied up 20 people and used a hand grenade to blast an escape route through a wall.

Rios was often referred to as Mexico's "Public Enemy Number One" and is believed to be one of the country's most prolific armed robbers.

Stunned Californian neighbors and his pastor described him as a religious man who ran a small janitorial service. South Gate Pastor Melvin Acevedo said he was shocked to learn of Rios' identity.

"He was an example to all of us. He was a good member of the church. He was a good father. I am saddened for his family," Acevedo said by phone from the church.

The pastor said that the man he knew as Montoya sang during services and would often visit sick members of the church and reach out to those who stopped attending church.

My take is this: If he had really "given himself to the Lord", then he would not have broken out (in a violent manner, of course)- He would have faced his wrongdoings. Instead, he came here ILLEGALLY, changed his name, and allegedly lived the life of a "good citizen". If you believe that, then you are STOOPIT!!! Just like John Gotti made all his money owning a "social club". I stand by my last posting. If you want to live with your head so buried that everything smells like dung, go right ahead. I live in Arizona. I know what we have here. And I guess you would have laughed at me in 1979, when I told people what the mid-Easterners were doing. Sorry they didn't prove me right immediately. Sorry they took 14 years to try it the first time, and 22 years to get it right. Please remember me in 15 years when you nitwits are speaking Spanish. I personally hate having to "Press 1 for English". And finally, to answer your question, NO they do not have a SECRET army. They state publicly what their intentions are. Their goal is to make the United States of America a predominately "Latino" country. They make no secret of this. They don't have to, with all the progressives we have in this country and all the weak spined, "I dare not say anything that would upset them" so called patriots we have in this country.

Just a follow up

Now that Mexico's "Public Enemy Numero Uno" has been caught in the U.S., I bet his children were born here, so they are "citizens". Therfore, now that the brutal U.S. law enforcement has torn apart his loving family, let's see how long it takes them to hook onto American life support, since the stolen loot "was all spent". I would also like to know how many legal inhabitants he had working for his small janitorial business. I'll bet anyone a year of free labor that most of his employees were illegals. I also bet the "small janitorial business" wasn't his only source of income. However, his other customers will probably have to go somewhere else to get their drugs. But of course, I am saying this with zero knowledge of the man; just the knowledge of others just like him. One of my neighbors came here as an illegal. Once he got here, he made his money as a coyote. This is by his own admission. He speaks of it as something noble he did for his fellow compadres. Under the amnesty of 1985, he became a "citizen". He grew up in Puerto Vellarta, which is one of the richest towns in Mexico in a million dollar house. His mother still lives in it. Of course, he came here for "a better life." He now owns a restaurant, a welding shop and an auto body shop. He lives in a $450,000.00 home. He hired illegals to build it. I owned 20 acres at the time, which sat between my house and the house he was building. 7:00 Sunday mornings, I would have to go over there and tell the construction workers to lower their music. My fine neighbor asked one of my other neighbors to give me a message from his workers- The message was, "If he comes over here and bothers us again, he will be found dead in a ditch somewhere." He went on to tell this neighbor that he told them to do what they had to do, and that I did not know what I was dealing with when I dealt with "those people" (His words). I laughed at this, because although I told nobody, I DID know what kind of trash I was dealing with, and I was armed appropriately. (I also don't agree with concealed carry restrictions- Do you have a problem with that also?) And before you allude to it, I would certainly have dealt with this issue before anyone of them could raise their shovel to me. Thank God, as an American I still have the right to defend myself- for how long, I don't know. NOW COMES THE FUNNY PART- When his $450,000.00 house was finished, he refused to pay the workers. He told them to go to Hell, because they were illegals and had no way to sue him. For the record...If they come here legally and they are going to be productive inhabitants, I will support them. However, I don't care how productive they intend to be, if they come here illegally, they are already CRIMINALS!!! Feel free to figure this out. Me>:barf::eek:<Them

AP 18July2005

U.S. Education Secretary Margaret Spellings said Monday the "achievement gap is beginning to close" between Hispanic and white students, while Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton countered that she's not convinced the federal government is doing enough to help Hispanic youth get through school.

Spellings and Clinton each spoke at the convention of the National Council of La Raza, a four-day event that ends Tuesday.

The two did not dispute statistics that show Latino students have the nation's highest high school dropout rate and the lowest college enrollment rate, but diverged on whether the government is fixing the problem.

Praising No Child Left Behind, the education law President Bush signed in January 2002, Spellings pointed to National Assessment of Educational Progress scores released Thursday that show 9-year-olds, including Hispanics, have improved their reading and math scores.

"These results did not come out of thin air," Spellings said. "They came from a commitment to doing something that's never been done before, a commitment to giving every child a quality education."

"The achievement gap is beginning to close," she said.

But minutes later, Clinton told the same group: "You are doing your part, but I don't know that your government is doing its part right now."

Clinton stressed that, though younger students' scores have improved, 17-year-olds have made virtually no gains since the tests first started being given 30 years ago.

"I'm not sure that we are doing everything we should to make your job easier, to make sure that the opportunity society is alive and well for everyone," she said.

Linda L. Silva, a Democratic organizer and advocate for Latinos in Delaware County, Pa., stood with hundreds of others to applaud Clinton, particularly when the senator called for policy changes that would allow undocumented immigrant students to receive college aid. Silva said she hopes to see Clinton enter the race for president in 2008. "There's no one else in America who has more integrity today," she said.

The welcome for Spellings was more muted.

Washington-based La Raza was founded in Phoenix in 1968 as a Mexican-American civil rights group and now is the nation's largest advocacy group for Hispanics. It represents 4 million members in 300 affiliates across the country.

Minutes after the speeches ended, eight people who said they want tighter controls on immigration walked into the Pennsylvania Convention Center where the meeting is being held wearing T-shirts and caps saying "U.S. Border Patrol," said Cecilia Munoz, vice president of La Raza. They were escorted from the building without incident, Munoz said.

Not costing us anything, huh? Vote for another Clinton in 2008. At least the criminals will be well educated (at your expense) when they rob your gun impounded selves. Check out the above website for yourselves- Then, come back here and argue that "they mean us no harm." I'm sorry to see that nobody else is posting here anymore. Either because the truth hurts, or I'm preaching to the choir.

The gibberish they speak hasn't improved one iota since the day we first met, and now they have the gall to act outraged because I ignore them when they gibber at me.

How do you know whether or not they want to be Americans if you can't understand a single word they're saying?

There were definitely italian, german, and danish immigrants who went their whole lives without learning any significant amount of english in America. You don't seem to doubt that they wanted to be American. Why do you think that people speaking spanish want to be American any less?
