Lever Gun in 44 mag

I want one. They all seem to have issues jaming. I've read all the reveiws. Can a decent lever gun be bought in a pistol cartridge ?

I used to have a Winchester 94ae in .44mag. Only issue I had was sellers remorse when I got rid of it.

I've had mine for 21 years and it has functioned perfectly with any bullet. Trying to use 44 Specials is another matter. Jams first time...every time. But with Magnum length ammo no problems at all.

I have a Rossi 92 in .44 magnum. It has never so much as hinted at having an issue with either magnum or special rounds. I love the thing and it is one of the funnest rifles I own.

I have a Rossi 92 in 357 that works flawlessly with anything jacketed, 38 or 357. Semi-jacketed has had a few hiccups in 357. The lead to copper transition on the bullet seemed to catch an edge when cycling. Got hollow points and/or FMJ and it shoots like a dream. Just ordered another Rossi 92 in .454 Casull. We'll se if it cycles both .454 and 45 LC well. I expect it won't have any trouble.

I grew up shooting a Marlin 30-30 around 1970. I loved that rifle. I'am leaning to a Rossi because I heard new Marlins are Remlins.

I'm surprised at how well Rossi/Braztech leverguns perform, especially at their pricepoint. Winchester is the "you get what you pay for" option. Marlins are looking good again, and the Braztech is IMHO head and shoulders above where it stood as regards to product offerings.

Ive had a couple of Winchester trappers in .44, and they were great rifles. I currently have two in .45, and they too have been fine.

I also have a Marlin 336 "youth" (about the same size as the Trappers), and it is a Remlin, and early on, it tried hard to live up to their rep. I had to fiddle with it a good bit to get it to work.

Now, my 1895G is also a Remlin, and its been 100%. Its not really much bigger than the others, but its a lot more fun to shoot. :)

Like the pistol caliber guns, lighter loads using lead bullets are fun plinkers, and for pretty much anyone. If you like getting thumped, just load them up hot.

I had a Marlin 45/70 back 35 yrs ago along with a 336c 30/30. Nice hunting pieces. I reload 44 magnums these days and shoot reative targets.

gotta love the 38/357 for cost reasons. levers are alot more fun than people think and they sure burn through ammo. i would love one in a .44 if i was going to hunt something with it, not for a toy though. unless your a reloader/caster than ignore.

my little rossi feeds great 357 and 38, that it a pistol caliber and i don't hear f many 38/357 levers having jamming issues.

i am a big fan of the rossi. they feed 100% as long as using appropriate projectiles, very light and accurate. and as pretty as any of the other companies offerings IMO

Another Rossi M92 here. A little balky the first two times out, but flawless since with both .44 specials and magnums.

I never had any problem with my Marlin 1894SS using commercial, or reloads in 180 grain, 200 grain, 240 grain, 250 grain, 270 grain, or 300 grain using Jacketed bullets, HP, or FMJ. I also used 265 grain LWFP.
