least expensive handgun you've ever bought

$150, 8 years ago. A used norinco 1911. Took it home from a gun show. Finish was at 90%, gunked up inside with some goopy lube stuff. Cleaned it up. Shot and still shoots like a champ. It's one 1911 that has never given me a problem.

BTW

I am the OP.

And BTW:

Is the Phoenix HP22 still in production?

I do believe that in the state (Led by gun-haters) of Maryland (which is where I abide) that they have been deemed Saturday Night Specials; if this is so, I was lucky to get mine soooo long agoooooo (about 21 years, I think).

The cheapest gun tha I ever bought? I would have to say was a North American 5 shot revolver In 22 short that was mounted on a fancy nickle & turquoise belt buckle and the little gun had turquoise grips on it, we got this in a silver and turquoise store In Arizonia sometime late 70s early 80s??? and I know I payed less that $100.00 and I still have the gun the buckle is floating around some place? Least expensive

The best deals I have had in the last couple years is a Bersa Thunder .380 duo-tone for $175, a Colt 1903 .32acp for $165 and a Radom vis 35 with 2 magazines for $200. And they are all great shooters.

The cheapest handgun I've ever bought was a NIB Taurus M85. $300ish range. That was my first, and last, Taurus, so I guess you could say that I was very disappointed in my purchase.

I paid $69 for a new chrome Jennings J-22 with the wooden grip. I've shot the heck out of this cheap little gun and it still works fine.

I guess the cheapist gun I came by is a Lorcin .380 - someone gave me that gun because he didn't want it anymore and didn't want to sell it to a thug.

Least expensive is a tie between two.

Bought a used .22LR single action of some brand I had never even heard of before for $80. Took it to the range, would not fire at all, not even touch the primer. Took it back, got the money back and bought my S&W 637. So it ended well.

Just recently (couple months ago) I bought a TIE A27 for $80, it is a knock off of the Colt Junior and a decent one at that. The guy had KG Koted the slide tan, :barf: so after I put a couple of boxes through it and saw that it actually worked, I took it to my gunsmith and he is cleaning it up and redoing it in a Moly with flat black :D. I am actually paying almost as much for that as I did for the gun itself, LOL. Should look a lot better though and be more rust resistant and I am looking forward to having the little sucker back. It is fun to shoot and not a bad BUG if it continues to function well.

I will probably pony up (sorry, had to get a pun in there) and get a full on Junior or at least an Astra Cub if I come across one at a decent price since I just love the design so much.

Pawnshop in Tampa FL, $20 for 25acp Raven pistol back in '93-'94. $40 for some 32acp pistol a few weeks later.

I shot the hell out of them, never a problem. Gave them to a couple friends.

Used: $200 for a Yugo SKS with original cleaning kit, grenade launcher, blade bayonet, reddot scope on spare receiver cover, extra 30rd mag, a bunch of stripper clips, and about 40 rds of ammo.

New: Beretta Bobcat .22lr Inox $299.

I think my dad got my Nylon-66 for $50

I paid $90 for a brand new H&R 676 revolver in 22 LR and it also has a cylinder for 22 mag. That was in 1980 and I still have it and it's still a really nice shooter.

In 1970, right after high school graduation, I bought a Ruger .22LR for m$30, sold it for $45 a week later, thought I'd made a killing!

Back in the day I got a new in cosmolene SKS for $100 cash from a guy who barely slowed down to swap the cash for the gun at a gun show. Also back in the day I got a Ruger Security Six in original, excellent condition at a pawn shop for $275. I don't think these are the best prices anyone ever got for comparable guns, but you couldn't do either deal again today.

KelTec P-11 and Beretta Jetfire 950. Don't remember which was less, but the Kel-Tec was junk and the Beretta is still 100% after nearly 1000 rounds.

80$ for a used .38 revolver at an estate auction in Southern Mississippi. If you get over the fireballs it shoots out of the right side of the cylinder and the horrendous accuracy past about 20 feet, I guess it's not that bad. :D
