Law Makers about to Strike a Deal on Immigration

"And speaking of erin go braless, how come I dont see the frothing at the mouth about the Irish illegal immigrants...only the mexicans..."

yet again a pro illegal spouts off about this being a race issue.

95% of the ILLEGALS are coming from mexico and other south american countries. i do not care where they came from, ILLEGAL is ILLEGAL.

If you have a tank of water that has holes in it, wouldn't it be smart to fix the biggest hole first? If you are loosing 90%+ of your water to one hole, it would be foolish to focus on the other holes before you got that one fixed.

Guess you have never been in the bronx or little italy, or seen a St. Patty's day parade.

Your racism is showing.
How many of these are illegal. Relative few I suspect, but if they are illegal, then I say deport them.

The US-Canadian border is the longest in the world. Either that hole is above the waterline, or it is providing a nice stream of pure water to your garden rather than a stream of mineral water to your kitchen floor causing you to slip. Ok, I don't like this analogy :D

What you are describing is called a greedy algorithm. While a remarkably effective one in many many situations, there are some limitations. Such as it doesn't take into account the big picture, only a small part. Blindly, it can come pretty close to a solution, but a tailored algorithm will get you a better one (and take you more work to figure out)

Don't happen to have the amount of this money that is then wired to Ireland do you? The Irish can be crafty you know

Sorry, don't have that stat handy.

550,000 cases of Irish whiskey are sold in America each year.

yet again a pro illegal spouts off about this being a race issue.

Im not pro illegal. I'm anti hispanophobic screeching. Throw every illegal out for all I care...all of them, toss, toss toss, bye bye. You guys can go on and on and on over it, I already called my Senator and told her my position, viz :"toss, toss, bye, bye". Anyhting else is just the same political claptrap to control votes, jobs and profits that we have had going over immigration for 150 years, ever since the first pile of dirty Micks began to despoil our prisitine Anglo Saxon Shores, to be followed by waves of Wops, Yids and Chinks.

So go grab yerself a few books on the immigration experience and tell me whether these endless debates are anyhting different than the screeching of 150 years ago, 'cept that now we are more polite and dont use the terms above that they felt so free to bandy about.

And that has what to do with the snide hispanophobic tripe I see in all these threads?

Your racism is showing. .

Hows that? Pointing out inequality of net ranting is rascism? . PS....lots of illegal Irish, Russian, Scicilian and other "pale" illegals here, many of whose organized criminality far exceeds the sleepier felonies of their Southern Border crossing brethren.

UH1-D Rotorhead,
I said that, “If you think this agreement between the Senate and the White House solves anything or brings "closure", then you have little understanding of the problem or of the attitudes of the the majority of Americans.” and you asked me “How so?”

This “agreement” will not bring any closure to this issue. It has the worst elements of a compromise; if solves nothing (I’ll delve into that in a second) and satisfies nobody except congressional members (and I suppose you). Notice that the conservative side of the issue has been vehemently outspoken in their opposition to this. Not only at a grassroots level, but even members of congress have stated they are opposed to it. Presidential candidates willing to take a stand, as opposed to those waiting to see how the political winds blow before choosing a side, have voiced their disapproval of this. Even House and Senate leaders have stated they are unwilling to even bring it up for a vote unless certain numbers in support can be guaranteed. On the other side of the issue, notice the outspoken opposition. Illegal alien advocates, as well as illegal aliens themselves, have demonstrated in the street declaring it too difficult to comply with, and too oppressive to families of illegal aliens. This agreement has brought together nobody except some members of congress. It will bring no “closure” as both sides are already unhappy with it and will seek changes and new bills to modify it.

As far as this bill solving the issue is concerned, it will not even come close. History has shown that every time any form of legal status is given to illegal aliens, more people attempt (and succeed) to enter the United States illegally. Historical precedent tells us that in a matter of years, we will be right back here discussing this very same issue, although chances are that the numbers in question will be even higher. Practically speaking, those that have already demonstrated their propensity to operate outside the law anytime the law is difficult to comply with are not suddenly going to change their attitudes towards the law. They will still have the inclination to bypass the somewhat difficult to comply with law. This fact is made even more true when considering that the majority of these illegals are migratory and transient in nature, hold low paying jobs, and live in such a manner as to minimize their cost of living (such as many people to a home) in order to send that money back to their foreign homes. What on earth makes you think that people unwilling to even obtain insurance at maybe a grand a year, are suddenly going to voluntarily pay many thousands of dollars just to comply with the law? Especially when their own actions betray their willingness to sidestep the law? It just simply isn’t going to happen. As another improbability, what makes you think an organization (CIS) that has been unable to even catch up with those trying to legally enter this country permanently and who is millions of people backlogged, is suddenly going to be able to handle an additional 12-20 million applicants? Their backlog is in around 10 million already. Lets just tack on another 15 odd million. I mean, why not, they're never going to catch up anyway. Once again, lets just shaft those trying to come in legally.

You hit it on the head, Wild...problem is if I said it, the MODs would have had all the weenies crying "racism", I would have been admonished, or worse, and the thread would have been closed...yep...you hit it square on the head.

You are correct AHenry all this new law would do is increase the debt on the
American taxpayer, we now have over 300 million people and take in more
people then any other country in the world the question always will be how
many before the system breaks, the strain is showing and we certainly do not
have anyone in government who has the knowledge or strength to do what
is correct. This is not about race but numbers we no longer live when ma&pa
with 5 kids could move in get there 40 acres, a mule, and provide a living,
it is gone forever therefore in order to survive in the "new world" we new
new guide lines. Those of you want open borders please volunteer to feed,
cloth and provide medical care for who wish to join you in your home and
then perhaps I will listen.

This bill is treason, pure and simple. There is no humanitarian crisis in the United States...... there is a greedy, power-hungry politician crisis.

The alleged "representatives" that are sitting on the Hill have only two things in mind: $$ and votes. They care not about anybody or anything but what benefits them. They created the problem by failing to do one of the few tasks assigned to them as the federal government: protecting the country from foreign invasion. Now, as with the health-care system (which they've also broken), they want to ride in on the white horse and "fix" the problem that they created.

Since I live in California, I can make some educated comments about the illegal alien situation. We've had several murders here in my area in the last year; in fact, there were three shootings in 24 hours here a few months ago. Every one of these three shootings, as well as nearly all of the murders here involve illegal aliens and gangs. There are countless news segments that end with something like "so and so murderer was last seen in so and so and is suspected to be hiding out in Mexico where he is from and has family."

There is really no incentive to become American if your allegiance is to your native country and you're just here for the financial benefits, especially when the gov't makes it that much easier by helping you not to assimilate. I work with several Mexicans that are here with green cards and they always refer to me and others as "Americans." They do not consider themselves American; they are Mexicans that came here for $$, and they freely admit it. Many of them also seem to feel that about a third of America is comprised of land stolen from Mexico....

Mexico and many of the South American countries are also some of the most violent and corrupt in the world. The people that walk across the border with no regard for the law are that much more likely to disregard the rest of our laws. The people that came here through a legal process have more to lose..... and they know it.

The politicians that are doing this should be charged with treason, tried, and sentenced to some form of capital punishment. They are selling America out for a few $$ and a few votes.

Wow!

Just found this thread, excellent posting LAK Supply and wingman.
I whole heartedly agree, it cheapens American citizenship and shows that members of Congress are willing to walk on the backs of American citizens/taxpayers to get, maintain and keep power.
It's really sad to sit and watch your country being sold down the river like this.
Where is the leadership????????????
Who in the hell speaks for America?

You aren't from Commiefornia are you? My wife's been turned down for countless jobs (administrative) because she does not speak Spanish. There seems to be a problem when American citizens have trouble finding jobs because they do not speak a foreign language.....

Naw Im from colorado

Hmmmm..... I hoped you wouldn't say something like that. I'm moving to Wyoming pretty soon..... I have friends up there (lived there several years ago) that tell me Spanish isn't a prevalent language up there....yet.

It sure isn't far from Colorado though.....I'll be up in the Northern part of the state (either Cody or Sheridan), but we were initially considering Cheyenne as well and that's only an hour or two from Denver...

Well I'm down in the springs and I have been looking for another job but it apears noone wants me when they can hire someone for half of what they pay me.
