Keep the Rossi or give it the tossy ?

Rossi's are actually not bad.. I used to own one (traded it for a set of night sights and 2 fullcap mags)

I had the model m461

I carried it for about a year, accurate for a 2 inch barrel... shoots great, My mother packs one of these in stainless, she loves the gun, she went from being a semiauto fan to a revolver fan when her beretta tomcat failed. FTE, she got the gun fixed by beretta, but she said she will only carry a revolver. and has been ever since, she normally goes shooting with me once a month, and she puts 50rd's through it (.38spl).

and for the rossi knockers, go out and shoot one... one of the new ones.

I'm not knocking the Rossi Tossi. I owned a Rossi .38Spl. 2" for two years. It was too heavy for summer carry (28oz's), and I didn't like the heavy SA/DA trigger. So I don't have it anymore. I replaced it with a Taurus 85 Ultra-Lite .38Spl.+p 2" brl, 15oz's... :)

MY choice!!! If that's OK?

Your entitled to your own choice, I carried this weapon w/o problems

but to each their own.
It is heavy, i must agree. Had to put the belt on al ittle tighter.

Nice collection of Tauri, Bull...

Having been a former owner of a Taurus auto (PT-908--another good gun), I can vouch for Taurus quality. I'm toying around w/ getting a .357 Tracker, but I'm waiting to see how their new multi-caliber Tracker performs first.

And I've known a few people from Maine, too. Nice folks. A Texas fellow can almost forget that they're still Yankees... ;)

Thank you sir ! If I wasn't from Maine, my second choice would be Texas. Then I would have more to brag about, than I do now. ;)

Now I have a question. On this forum I have seen pictures of lots of guns but a fair amount of them all seem to be picture perfect. No powder residue, holster wear, scratches, just posed guns. Are these guns being used or carried outside the range or are the cameras being shot more?

Stainless guns don't show wear as much as blue guns. I have a well worn S&W M10 but I look after it and touch up the worn bits from time to time. Cleaning and oiling preserves them too. My stainless guns look like new, and they are of varying ages.

Here's an example - looks OK except close-up.

Hey all, just got back from the range with my Rossi 971 ss .357 mag 2.5" barrel, bought this gun used and it was its first outing with me, let me give you a break down of its diet: 50 rds, federal .38 wadcutters, 50 rds of the old .38 lead round nose, 20 rds of speer .38+p ,100 rds of win. white box 110 gr. .357 mags and 50 rds of double tap 158 gr. .357 rds with NO problems it performed great, as like other people I was worried about the quality of the Rossi as I never owned one before I recommend them to everybody :)

Haven't posted much the last few days, and just noted your question. My pt92 is used for HD, cocked & locked with 17rounds in the mag. and 1 in the chamber. It is used on an average of every two weeks as my range gun. I usually shoot out the HD ammo first, then shoot 4, 17 round mags of range stuff.

My Taurus 85UL is used about the same, and I usually shoot 25 to 30 rounds of +p ammo per session. This little wheelie is my summer carry in a pocket holster.

I don't keep track of how much ammo I put through which gun, because I have too many to keep track of. I would guess I have almost 2,000 rounds through the pt92. (without a hiccup I might add) The 85UL was purchased in early may, and I'd guess it has seen around 350 rounds because I put about 200 breakin rounds through it early on. If either look too nice to be used, it's only because I take good care of all my guns... :D

I purchased a digital camera over a year ago. Because I'm old, and don't do that well with todays technology, my grandson just taught me how to use it, and the photo's I've posted are my first efforts. So my guns see allot more use than my camera. :)

Hope this answers your questions... :)
