iwb holsters for fatties lol

You'll print slightly, but I think most people freak out about this fact more than you really should.

Just think, most people are not very observant. I can carry a full size Beretta under a oversized t-shirt and most won't notice anything at all.

Crossbreed has my vote

Im 6' 235lbs and the crossbreed super tuck has my vote hands down. I carry a full size 1911 all day with no problem.

What a great thread

I an 6'1' 280 lbs and take the easy road. J frame on the ankle for the winter and a Colt Pony in a pocket holster in the summer. In my opinion a big caliper is an overkill. The most important is shot placement and for that I practice with my carry guns minimum 3 times a week for at least 1 hour each session.

I have carried both a 5" 1911 and 4" 1911 in a Ross Leather Model 18 comfortably enough that I frequently forget about them. The Model 18 is ambidextrous and adjustable for rake.

I now carry the 4" in a Milt Sparks Summer Special II, often forgetting about it for lengthy periods.

Now that the price of the Ross is very nearly that of the Milt Sparks (it was half when I bought mine,) I am much less inclined to recommend the Ross as it lacks the sight rails, steel reinforced mouth, and snug fit of the Summer Special II.

My wife says there's just more of me to love

Guys, I have to admit I had to read this thread 3 times 'cause the first two I was crying from laughing so hard, thanks I needed that.

I'm 5'9, 275 and most all is around my middle, good rolls at waist line. I have not bought a holster yet, I pickup my Kahr CW9 after mod by Cylinder and Slide today.

I have gleaned quite a bit of wisdom from you'all, and I appreciate the openness in a embarrassing topic. When I settle on a carry holster, I will post back and share my experience.

Thanks again, I feel like I'm in my old coffee shop talking to friends.

I am 5'11, and 253 lbs. I wouldn't say I am experienced yet, but I settled on a don hume IWB with shirt over top during the week. When wearing a suit I put on a fobus paddle holster. I only have a Glock 19 for carry now, but I am saving up for a Kahr PM9 for use by next summer. I usually only carry for a few hours at a time though.

I don't see this as an embarrassing topic really, I mean I am fat so what. so are lots of other people and we need gear just like anybody else. we just have different needs because of our bodies. there is one huge advantage to being fat in a tactical sense, there is lot of us to shoot though. granted we cant hide behind small trees but we can't have it all you know. I bought a com-tac mtac holster I like it a lot. not as much as fried chicken but close. hey if you tried something and don't like why don't you tell us why you didn't like it instead of it just sucked. anyhow I also got some Perry suspenders too, the best money I have ever spent. I were them even when I am not packing.

Epete,

You are not a qualifying fatty, sir; just short for your weight. Do not be surprised if your message is not appropriately moved by the moderator from this thread to a companion thread entitled:

"IWB Holsters for SHORTIES!"

Yea, I fit the description, especially the sexy part.:D
My favorite carry style is IWB. I use a Wild Bills 'Summer Heat' for either my full size Eaa Witness 10mm or when I give it a break, I carry the Kimber 4" covertII 45 cal.
Most weather here is warm enough, long enough to wear just a dark T shirt over it. I don't worry about printing as I have found that most people pay no attention to those around them especially if you tend to be on the heavy side. ;)

I`m 6`3 and 255. I like a S&W snubbie in a pocket holster in the jeans front pocket/jacket pocket. And when i wanna carry a full size i have a Ed Brown 5" 1911 in a cladwell holster on a clip on webbelt so that it rides high above the stomach under a leather vest. The holster has a forward cant so i wear it behind the waist but i can pull it from the holster with ease. I have never found a IWB that didnt pinch me when out to dinner :-) hahaha.

Boarhunter, I'm not short, just height deficient! BTW, I did get my CW9 in the other day, and had a few soft misfires, got to look into that, not to happy. I sure appreciate all the input and hope it keeps coming, I know there is a perfect holster for carry for my size and challenged height. HA

A pear with legs

I am just 5'7" and pass 250 a while ago. I had problems concealing until I got a Crossbreed tuckable IWB holster. I carry a full size 1911 and I find it comfortable and the weapon is well concealed. I some times forget I am carrying it that comfortable. I think they offer a guarantee.

Here it is.

Look at this:

http://smartcarry.com/index.html

If you read in the testimonial section you'll find that this holster was the salvation of several heavy men and women.:) Also, this holster has sizing for the gun you want to wear. The large size fits full size service guns.
