lol like the title? ok in all seriousness I am fat dude I need recommendations for a iwb holsters. I would like firsthand knowledge so you are not over 250lbs I really cant use your info. only the fat, hungry, sweaty, and massively sexy need respond. makes, models, and level of concealment the holster. what works or what doesn't work to conceal on portly guys. thanks for the help.

I believe that I fit you description quite well as I'm 6'5" and 295# most of it in my mid section. For my S&W Sigma I use a Don Hume H715M and it works very well. I got from www.gunnersalley.com for about $35 shipped. They didn't have it on hand and had to wait for Don Hume to run a batch but I still got it in about 2 months.

I think I qualify.

I'm 5'6" and go about 230 buck naked. (Try not to think about that, it's not pretty.)

I've given up on IWB holsters. They are simply too uncomfortable for me. I prefer the pancake derived holster design lately. (I make holsters, by the way.) Perhaps a pancake style with keepers fore and aft might work as an IWB, but I'm not sure I want to experiment with it.

There are no currently marketed IWB holsters I find comfortable.

I've been 5-10 265 for the past 5 years and found a perfect IWB. It is the Wild Bills No Such Agency holster. Call Bill and tell him your problem. It will take a little time but is worth the weight :p Seriously.

That said I decided to do something about it, I don't want to be an diabetic, I want to do physical stuff, I want to go to military reunions and not have my old buddies make jokes.

I went on the South Beach diet and absolutley followed it. I weighed in this morning at 225 and will be 220 when I report to LFI in Oct.

You WILL lose 10 lbs in 2 weeks so you will begin to feel the difference.

I am 6' 1" 290, though my weight is proportioned over my entire body as I am built like a human fireplug, and my gut is not too over sized. I still suffer from many of the same problems as the, my weight is all in my middle, brethren. This is my current IWB rig for my 1911s and is the most comfortable setup I have ever owned. Along with my Beltman belt this rig stays where it is supposed to and does not jab me hard in the side. It is a T Gunleather holster with matching mag carrier.

While I'm not heavy I fine most IWb's uncomfortable(sensitive skin ?) anyway
I use a low cost padded cloth type only thing I've found that works.

6'2" and 285 here. I have noassatol disease. I have to wear my belt and pants tight to keep from looking like I'm in the "hood". My big Steyr in a IWB? Fergedit! It's OWB for me all the way.

has anybody used a comp-tac holster?

I think you'll find many favorable reviews of Comp-Tac holsters around here. Popular IWBs from them are the C-TAC and the M-TAC. I'm thinking about getting an M-TAC myself for my 226 to carry during winter months.

lol nice cortjestir, that is exactly the same gun and same holster I was looking at buying from them. let me know how it works out for you. maybe a milt sparks versa max 2. I have heard lots or good thing about milt sparks too, the holsters are polar opposites more or less. what would you get out of those two?

LOL :D

I'm 6'5" and... shall we say, a lot more over 300lbs than I'd like since my auto accident last year (I gained a ton of weight from being unable to move for 3 1/2 months).
I concealed carry everyday either a Kahr CW40 or a Glock 26, both in Crossbreed Supertuck holsters at 4:00 or so - I tried a High Noon Bare Asset for my Glock that failed miserably (basically my fat was shoving the muzzle into my hip, hurting and making the carry feel extremely insecure). From this I have gathered that I would probably be best off sticking to "pancake-like" holsters that are wide with two attachment points fore-and aft, I've found OWB rigs like this comfortable (though not concealable) in the past. Oh, I also had a Crossbreed Qwik-Draw for a while for the Springfield XD full-size I had for a while, I sold the XD 'cause it bit me (and it was too big to conceal anyway).

My next concealment challenge, when I get some money together and get a little better at shooting it will be my Dan Wesson Classic Bobtail .45 - I'm pretty confident I'll be able to hide it.

For the record I live in Texas and always wear box-cut type shirts NOT tucked in (yes the supertuck is tuckable, but I've never tried it). Sometimes I button the shirts, sometimes I don't - either way conceals just fine.

crossbreed super tuck for me.
5.8 and 250 pounds.

I carry nothing but full size guns. cz types in 40 and 9mm.
Depending on how tight the shirt is they print a little at the grip.

I found recently that the 1911 doesn't print at all, and may switch to that.

Very comfortable holster, but I have found my one up size pants for carry are no longer as loose, and though I want to buy larger pants, the wife tells me I better lose the extra weight instead.

I'm 5'7" and about 220. I've had very good luck with a Milt Sparks Versa Max2 and a Commander size 1911. I buy my pants a tad large and use a stout belt. I wear the gun at about 3:30. I also have a VM2 for my H&K P7M8, and that's a very comfortable set up as well.

Crossbreed

I'm 5'11" 260 and have been breaking in a Crossbreed Supertuck with an XD40SC. I wore it for about 3 hours on Saturday and I think it's gonna work out well. I went with horsehide for sweat resistance.

I can't really help you but....

I personally don't like IWB carry so I bought a S&W 638 Airweight to pocket carry.

I'm 230lbs after lipo.

If I felt I need to carry a bigger gun I'd carry OWB with big untucked shirt, using my WallMart BB gun holster for $5.95.
