It's official: Kansas passes Right to Carry bill!

Yeah baby, gotta' love that - congrats to all of you! You're all about to experience a whole new level of ownership and rights, and it's a fabulous feeling.

Keep it rolling for National reciprocity!

Flippin' NICE WIN for freedom. Flippin' one stupid-arse governor! The first time she vetoed it a couple years back, it wasn't overridden - now she looks really stupid being overridden, thankfully. I think that is 33 now with shall-issue, but possibly 34. Nebraska next on hit list!

Sounds good to me! Georgia will honor a permit from another state if that state will honor ours. Hope Kansas is willing to work with us!

According to NRA site, that's 35 shall issue, 3 discretionary-reasonable, 2 no permit required at all, and now only 11 non-right-to carry.

So including the 2 "no permit" states, there are now 37 states that are "shall issue." Of course, the NRA is as optimistic as they can be as to how they count states.

11 more to go. Now if we can get Deleware and Nebraska this year ... :D

Anybody know what kind of time frame we are talking about? I'll be driving from NE OK to Colorado in mid-June and it would be nice to be able to carry all the way across Kansas! I usually unload "on the fly" as I go over the border and then shove everything under a seat. Be nice to be able to just act like a normal person.

That's Really Good News

I'm in Oklahoma, and I have decided from time to time NOT to do something (usually hunt) (i.e., spend money) in Kansas because of its heretofore idiotic refusal to enable people to legally defend themselves.

And on the times I have gone to Kansas (to hunt pheasant), I've thought it an inappropriate and bothersome pain in the neck to unload the old .45 and put it in the back of the truck, or unload and disassemble it, etc. And believe you me, I hated being unarmed. Really hated it.

I felt as uncomfortable being defenseless as I felt self-conscious when I first started carrying.

Good Move, Kansas Legislature!

Next order of business in Kansas is to override old Katie and send her packing.
she will be happy in her new home state of California.
