I am a cop in Bethel AK. We are issued glock 21,s as is ANchorage PD and Fairbanks PD. Glock dominates the law enforcement community up here. The only agency that is large using something else is the Alaska State Troopers. They carry smith 4006 and they have had nothing but problems with them. The trigger safety even if it could freezed would be come unfroze with just alittle pressure. Also if you are putting you finger on the trigger before you intend to shoot you don't deserve to carry a gun.

Guys this place is starting to sound like Glocktalk.com! Next we will be starting to argue about recoil spring weights and how we know more about them than Glock engineers. Are Glocks good pistols? Yes. Are they the best? Probably not. The most reliable and accurate pistols that I have owned have been Sigs and BHPs. Do I like and own Glocks? Yes I presently own three. Do they jam? Sometimes. See my post here about my G19 problem just this week. Will they freeze? If you put water on them and they get below 32 I feel confident that they will. Do I like the Glock trigger? Yes I do more so than DA/SA triggers. Are Glocks accurate? Usually not enough for me. I put KKMs or Bar Stos in mine but I do that with other guns as well. Please don't revert to insults to one another as here at TFL we should continue to "stay above the fray". If verbal combat is what you want go to shooters.com and start a flame war. You will get all you want! Thank you for your time. Your friend always at TFL Tom B :D

obviously, some people cannot read between the lines and some people just simply cannot read. to those who addressed the issue, good job. to those who haven't, learn how to read.

mylhouse,

you're a real smart one. yeah, okay, i'll just shut up. but since i REALLY suck, maybe i won't.

tazz,

the only kind of expert i've claimed to be, if anything, is someone with common sense. you should try learning it.

leedesert,

oh, you are really one wiley guy. how long did it take for you to come up with that reply? anyway, your answer said it all. talk about immaturity.

it has always been my contention that some people are genuinely interested in firearms and get the guns that they like. some people try to be cool or get with the in crowd and get a gun that someone else says is cool. or, not get a gun because someone says it's uncool. i really don't have a problem with the latter type. but from my experience, it's these latter types who usually give shooters a bad name.

like it or not, believe it or not, this post was a flame, first started by mr. secret service man, then perpetuated by twoblink. so, i tell him to use his head. i make no apologies for getting involved.

i mean i would never ask a guy if it was true his sister was a slut because i heard it from some guy. use common sense.

rstevea-You are either up late or early there in L.A. this morning. Having seen that you only have 11 posts here at TFL let me be one of the first to welcome you aboard. I think you will find this forum of interest and am sure you have a wealth of firearms knowledge to share with us. I look forward to sharing ideas and opinions with you. Thanks. Tom B

WOW!

How cold does it get in your house?

Most of these "What if"...questions are pretty worthless. What if you're facing 2 guys...3 guys...4 guys...what if you have a 9mm and not a .45...what if you have a shotgun and not a rifle...what if your 1911 is customized by Wilson...what if your ammo is harball...ad nauseum.

Use what you like, fight with what you've got. Fighting's Hard-Thinking's easy.

WOW, I'm now so sorry I even brought up the subject.

This was a flame to begin with??? This is just the saddest state of affairs I've seen! I now feel responsible for it.

Since the glock website is now up, maybe I'll just email them, and whatever answer they give me, I'll just horrid it to myself and not share my thoughts or concerns... Is that what we want? No.

People, answer the questions posted if you know the answers, if not, keep the ad hominem to a minimum.

twoblink,

Don't let the immature or the gun shop commandos dissuade you from asking questions. Some of us aren’t so lucky to have all the world’s gun knowledge in our brains or to have the wisdom of sages. Therefore we ask questions to learn what we don’t know. I’ve never seen this kind of petty childish behavior at TFL. I guess it’s to be expected. As society’s rules of behavior breakdown more and more people behave like savages.

So many pistols, so little money.

Twoblink,
Keep the questions coming, whatever they may be. The Firing Line is glad to have you.
I did have to rub my eyes though, I thought I was in Glocktalk for a minute...I mean with some of the rudeness that seems to be evergrowing over there. The Firing Line has been traditionally a very polite place to exchange information.

It's clear that *rstevea* is too stubborn to admit that even though he maybe made some valid points he did it in a very rude manner. He is what is wrong with society today...an unwillingness to take responsibility and accountability for mistakes.

Twoblink, don't let the occasional (at least at TFL) boor get you down.

It's not your sister dude, it's a lousy $500 gun. Get a life.

This thread is long overdue for a lock-down. What started out as an honest question turned into a flame fest by a few members. I believe twoblink's question has been answered intelligently by several folks and not so intelligently by others, and you know who you are.

There is no need for a part 2.
