Is there a watch list?

Thanks for all the great responses. I do believe the ability to have one is there , as a nation we have lots of national databases.
I guess this is just being paranoid... 'I always feel like somebody's watching me'.... who could it be 'BIG BROTHER' !!!

Dog, the only reason u r paranoid is that they're out to get u. Of COURSE your on a list and being watched. Everyone here is.

+1 to Gerhard. If you don't think that somehow gun purchases are being tracked, then good for you. Don't mean to be rude, but big brother is tracking everything, whether it is legal or not is another matter. Do I know how, no, but do I believe they are, yes. Do I have tinfoil on my head, no. I just firmly believe that somehow, the govt. knows what they want to know, not what they are allowed to know. Am I worried, no, I follow the rules and laws of the land and my state so I don't really care that I am tracked.

I bought two handguns this past summer at one time and the guy at Cabela's said, "don't be surprised if you get a call from Homeland or some other Dept. out of Washington. Buying two handguns at once will put you on a list." I didn't get a call from anyone and I don't know if I am on a list somewhere or not. Time will tell. Maybe two at a time will "flag" the purchase and then they do follow up calls and what not.

^^^^
It's idiots like this Cabela's clerk that make people believe this crap.

"Don't be surprised if you get a phone call..."

A phone call that never happened because it's a phone call that NEVER happens.

Private sales of most guns in most states are completely untrackable. The specifics of the purchase from the FFL are known ONLY to the FFL, except in states with tight handgun control and certain cities with long gun control.

Every other purchase not in those places CAN NOT be traced/tracked/monitored. "CAN NOT", as in impossibility.

I believe the federal government has about 10,000 employees at a secret location in West Virginia keeping track of this kind of stuff. They're looking to hire, if you need a job. Spanish is required. However, the prison just down the road pays a little better and you don't need to know Spanish.

A list of gun purchases?
If there's a list, then the bigger it is, the better it is....until it's so big the weight of it drags down it's usefulness. Worries me about as much as being on the list of people with hunting licences, or the list of TFL membership, which is to say...no worries about lists.

4473s are kept in house. Some think the back ground check will keep tabs on you. Tell me this, if that was the intention, why is it they allow you to skip the back ground check if you have a CCW.

Maybe some states are different, requiring notiification if you buy a gun, but thats the state, not the feds.

Just stick your head out the window checking gor Black Helochopeters before you buy, or maybe wear you Tin Foil hat and you'll be safe.

Anybody have some extra tinfoil I can use?

I buy it by the truck load living in tin foil alley:eek:

True 4473's are kept in house. Back ground checks are skipped in states that have their CCW licenses issued by LE. Here in FLA we have the Dept. of Agriculture issue our CCW license and not LE so we have to go through all the BS when buying, pay and go through the NICS check.

Just keep in mind... everybody thinks 'they' will one day come for your guns... historically this is false...

when 'that day' comes, they will be coming for you.....

they can confiscate all your guns after they put you on the free ride to camp.

If "they" want to round us up firearms tracking is not necessary. Unless you pay cash for everything, stay off the internet and never get a CCW there are plenty of ways to track down the gun owners.
