Is the media showing a bias for Obama?

McCain Still Holds Solid Lead In Georgia
a southern State..............

Maine: McCain Pulls within Ten
an Obama State by your electoral count.......

Virginia: Obama, McCain Tied at 44% Each, But Nearly Half Have Unfavorable View of Democrat Another Obama State in jeopardy..........

There's Arkansas, North Carolina, and more where Obama would expect to win but instead is slipping.

So, as I said, Obama is slipping, not just in States McCain is a shu-in but in Stats Obama SHOULD be a shu-in and has a narrowing margin. In fact, other then Nevada, Obama is either slipping while McCain is gaining, slipping while McCain holds steady, or steady while McCain is gaining.

As neither has a 50% those yet to decide are the factor on who will ultimately win those electoral votes and Obama has a higher negative or opposed factor then McCain and McCain is garnering more of those then Obama is.

It's not run away yet by any means but one would think by all the hype that Obama had a commanding lead, he does not.

Unless Obama is very careful, all this media attention might just expose him for what he really is - clueless. He looked less than slick this morning talking to an anchor in Baghdad. He really tap-danced around every question. It was textbook Politics 101 - exactly what he has been trying so hard to avoid. I think as he becomes "just another politician," his rock star intrigue will wear off. Hopefully it wears off by November.

If the "O" gets elected, it will be the finest example of how the media was able to manipulate the population in this lifetime. Not even the Carter fiasco would compare.

McCain is not the best choice either but I feel he will do a lot less damage than his rival.

If Billery teams up with him the country could save a lot of money and time if we just canceled Nov. 11 because that would be a near impossible team to beat :barf:

It's not run away yet by any means but one would think by all the hype that Obama had a commanding lead, he does not.

Or, you could look at the 42 electoral vote lead that Obama has, and decide that he does have a commanding lead after all, in the electoral college, which is all that really matters.

As I said, in a state that Obama will likely lose, it does not matter if he slips all the way to 1%.

There is a HUGE mainstream media bias for Obama. They never ask him the tough questions and he won't go on Fox or some of the conservative radio shows. The mainstream media is like another part of Obama's campaign machine.

I would say that Obama has a charisma and energy that John McCain lacks.
So did Hitler.

The MSM's pro-Obama bias is so blatant and disgusting that if I could dive through the TV screen and get my hands around Chris Matthews and Olberman's throats, I would. Anyone know where Russert is buried?

The abuses of the priveleges of being a nationally viewed journalist have been so severe this time that I think that there needs to be some recourse against the MSM, some punishment should be meted out.

Remember that one debate where the moderator asked Hillary a really, really tough question, and then asked Obama if he would like a pillow?

Oh wait, that was an SNL skit. It's so hard to tell the difference anymore.

I don't think Olberman supporting Obama is going to do him much good. Olberman is a mean spirited liberal hack who comes across as probably insane on TV.

As for Chris Matthews, I think he is actually in love with Obama, and I don't just mean as a politician.

Is the media showing a bias for Obama?

Compared to other dems such as Hillary? Yes no doubt.

Compared to McCain? Nope.

Chris Mathews once said the media is McCain's constituency. I haven't seen anything to contradict that.

I think copenhagens #4 post said it the best. But yeah, of course they give more coverage to Obama. For a lot of reasons, he's more "interesting" cause he's "different" and also because the "general" media is one sided and is used to brain wash and spread fear so as to provide the government more control over the people. And Obama is more for Government control when compared to McCain.

NBC has become the Obama Channel. I enjoy the Today Show but getting where I have trouble watching there 90% Obama 10% McCain coverage.

The interview a few days ago where Merideth Viera did with McCain was terrible. She kept talking over his responses not wanting to hold a 2 sided conversation. They need to get rid of that woman.

The thrill is hype. He's a charismatic guy but as usual the liberals think Americans are stupid and can be told what/how to think as it works so well on their own and again they are mistaken.

You are exaclty right. And this is why they consider folks who listen to talk radio to be mind numbed robots, easily manipulated by folks like Limbaugh, Hannity, Ingraham, etc. I suppose there are folks from both sides who use talking points from their favorite media outlets or pundits. However, I listen to certain talk radio hosts because they state what I believe, not because I believe what they state. That's a suttle, yet HUGE difference. The liberals don't understand this, IMHO. They are all about "group-think". (Takes a village, socialism, marxism, big government in control, etc). Those are mostly liberal ideologies.

Remember all the fuss the media made over Dan Quayles misspelling of Potato?

Why didn't they make a fuss when Obaman said he had visited all 57 states? Why didn't they ridicule him when he mentioned Jerusalem as being the capital of Israel? Bias for Obama? The media is dripping with it.

Obama, Obama, he's our man.
If he can't do it, then we can.

We want the Prez to be Barack,
We want our troops to leave Iraq.

Folks might think Barack's just a hack,
But don't worry O, we got your back.

We'll see him win, in the fall,
But we don't have any bias at all.

This is also a very interesting piece of writing and opinion from someone who made it out of the island prison south of Miami.

The letter below was in the TIMES-DISPATCH this past Monday, july 7, 2008.

It gives us ample reason to ask who, what, where,

when, why, and especially HOW the "change" will come

and more about the person advocating the "change".

" Beware Charismatic Men Who Preach 'Change' "
Editorial, Times-Dispatch: Monday 7 July 2008

Each year I get to celebrate Independence Day twice. On June 30 I celebrate my independence day and on July 4, I celebrate America's. This year is special, because it marks the 40th anniversary of my independence.

On June 30, 1968, I escaped Communist Cuba and a few months later I was in the United States to stay. That I happened to arrive in Richmond on Thanksgiving Day is just part of the story, but I digress.

I've thought a lot about the anniversary this year. The election-year rhetoric has made me think a lot about Cuba and what transpired there. In the late 1950s, most Cubans thought Cuba needed a change, and they were right. So when a young leader came along, every Cuban was at least receptive.

When the young leader spoke eloquently and passionately and denounced the old system, the press fell in love with him. They never questioned who his friends were or what he really believed in. When he said he would help the farmers and the poor and bring free medical care and education to all, everyone followed. When he said he would bring justice and equality to all, everyone said "Praise the Lord." And when the young leader said, "I will be for change and I'll bring you change," everyone yelled, "Viva Fidel!"

But nobody asked about the change, so by the time the executioner's guns went silent the people's guns had been taken away. By the time everyone was equal, they were equally poor, hungry, and oppressed. By the time everyone received their free education it was worth nothing. By the time the press noticed, it was too late, because they were now working for him. By the time the change was finally implemented Cuba had been knocked down a couple of notches to Third-World status. By the time the change was over more than a million people had taken to boats, rafts, and inner tubes. You can call those who made it ashore anywhere else in the world the most fortunate Cubans. And now I'm back to the beginning of my story.

Luckily, we would never fall in America for a young leader who promised change without asking, what change? How will you carry it out? What will it cost America?

Would we?

I'm sure Elian Gonzales is having the time of his life in Cuba right now. Maybe they treat him specially to help ensure that he keeps quiet. Of course, with the way he was abducted in the middle of the night by US federalies in SWAT gear and assault rifles, he probably thinks the US government is no different than the one in Cuba.
