Is anyone torn about selling AR's after the CT tragedy?

To add to what others already said, after the 9/11 Act Of War, pilots did not refuse to fly B-757/767s because those planes were used.

I've never owned an AR (prefer certain milsurps), but if I had two of them, one would be sold for a profit, in order to buy a heap of reloadable Prvi .303 'British' ammo for my six WW2 Enfields, because the price jumped about .15/round in the past three weeks.

The only reason to sell is because the price is high. Call me a dirty capitalist if you like. The guns didn't crawl out of the house and kill those children.

Did you refuse to eat food fertilized with ammonium nitrate or drive vehicles fueled by diesel after the OKC bombing? Of course not. That is absurd. How is it less absurd to suddenly look at conglomeration of steel, aluminum and plastic with aversion because some loony toon fool killed some people with something similar (and we don't even know that yet)?

Those statements may make me sound callous, but I'm not. A person that would knowingly harm a child is the lowest form of trash on this earth, and nothing would please me more than to introduce every such specimen to a tall tree and a short piece of rope. The thought of those children and teachers murdered, and the terror they must have went through beforehand is enough to make me physically ill.

Regardless of the horror we may feel, looking at a tool as if it's the problem is akin to getting angry at the wagon because the mule refuses to pull it. You can take a buggy whip to the wagon until you're blue in the face and the problem still remains.

A man murdered those people. Never forget that. He's dead and gone and isn't subject to the wrath of any of us on this earth. Perhaps that fact has only deepened the wound.

I don't feel guilty because I own guns. These shooting are the result of a mad persons actions, not my actions.

If you no longer want firearms, do what you feel is the right thing to do. That's your choice and your life and so long as you can make the choice freely, no one will criticize your decision.

I'm not torn about owning them at all. Whatever tool these losers decided to use isn't the fault of the the tool.
If that's not the reason and you're thinking about selling them to cash in on the huge jump in prices...why not? No one is making anyone pay these prices. Honestly if prices keep going up I'm going to sell mine. I love my AR, but am primarily a bolt-action guy...just my first love in rifles, and if there comes a day I can get over $3K for it, I'm selling. Wouldn't feel bad about it either. I wouldn't feel bad about selling stocks, a comic book or sports car for a larger amount than what I originally paid for it either.
If you feel like selling one and aren't going to regret not having it later...sell it.

No. I picked up a new Colt LE6920 before all of the gun buying frenzy started. I hope I can find some more reasonably priced ammo for it in the near future so I can go shoot it. I'm keeping this one.

I didnt sell my car when I saw a 5 time drunk driver ran over and killed a child. Unfortunatly its a mute point for me because I am not lucky enough to have an AR. Right now there are none to be had around me.

Hello all,
I keep felling that maybe I should just sell part of my guns and just keep a few.
Anyone else going thrugh this too?

Hell NO!

You are 100% completely free to feel anyway you so desire and then act according by selling your gun/s.

But you asked me. To sell is to capitulate to the antis IMO as they want gun owners to feel "dirty" almost like we are to be equated with common criminals to be outed via Public postings of our address information etc...No doubt, some will be more vulnerable than others but let's hope we remain a united front (for the most part) against the antis onslaught.

As far as I know, there in no man-made "material object" on Earth that can kill all by its loan-some...Man, however, can be the MOST Dangerous entity in the universe.

What difference does it make whether you own a couple firearms or a lot. Your still a firearms owner. The more we have locked in our safes the safer the world might be so contribute to the cause and keep buying.

This knob went and gave away or destroyed his collection and I guarantee you once he took 5 seconds of his "own" time to think about how he should feel, he's regretting it all. Unless of course he went full retard and took it further by thinking he needs to ally himself with do-gooders who want change and to have a real conversation about their feelings and agendas...

His quote

“I thought, ‘I’d like to see somebody murder a gun for a change.’ ”

After a statement like that, I think it was for the better. He doesn't seem like a stable or reasonable enough person to trust with a gun. Atleast all except for the 870 were just given away to someone else instead of getting intimate with a grinder.

I don't feel the least but guilty for owning a gun. I don't feel the least bit guilty for owning a car when some one kills some else driving a vehicle. I strive to drive legal and shoot legal. Treating both with respect is necessary since they can both kill. Then again, I use bug poison and cut grass. May be I am just vicious.

After watching the movie Texas Chainsaw Massacre i went out and destroyed both my chainsaws. ;)

Wait a minute...Can of worms I tell ya--What did you use to destroy the chainsaws with...? If they can destroy a chainsaw then...;)

I am contemplating selling my AR but only because it looks like with all the hype I could get about twice of what I paid for it, which I would use to buy a .243 bolt action I've been eyeing and a really nice scope.

I like my AR but I tend to end up shooting my bolt action rifles a lot more (call me lazy but a large part of it actually has to do with not having to full-size the brass after shooting in bolt action).

Tomorrow's announcements will in all likelihood change the "legal" process of 'private sales' to say the least...Many people choose consignment as an alternative.

Do you also feel like getting rid of some of your children because over 3,000 babies were killed / aborted today?

Do you feel like getting rid of your car because 150 people will die on US highways today?

Don't be duped by the MSM.

I can see people having an emotional reaction to something like this. A friend of the family lost a child to a drapery cord. Kid climbed up on a chair, got it wrapped around his neck and fell.

I have to admit I still think of it when I see a cord like that, especially if there's a child around.

Same reason my dad didn't like us playing in the driveway when I was a child. His cousin had backed over his own son.

Still it would be irrational to get rid of cars, driveways, or drapes. It's just as irrational to cut up a gun you paid good money for.
