Iraq, Are Things Even Worse Than We Think?

8 years to build it's "resistance"? LMAO [sarcasm]

Resistance is a word normally used to indicate irregular forces. Saddam had allowed for the invasion of Iraq, by technically superior forces, by caching weapons and supplies well before the first soldier crossed the border.

Let's try to keep up, ok?

Jake, that was hardly an attack on American soil.

The figures given are misleading, even by using admittedly "grand" definitions, the actual number of International Terror incidents between 1980 and 1999 is 76. Check it out in your own link.

Is it just me or does it seem like Jake just goes from thread to thread dropping nades. Google is dangerous in the hands of those that live to argue.

BTW.....Jake......What kind of guns do you have? What BTDT experience? Just asking because I sense your not just a gun enthusiast looking for discussion with like minded people.

My instincts tell me you have an agenda. I believe it is trolling for comments and attitudes that you can use to cast a light on our community that promote your politics.

I could be wrong, but I have pretty damn good instincts.

It took a few weeks to defeat the military, but 4 years later The People still haven't given up. As Americans how would we feel if foreign troops occupied our land, harried us and snooped through our homes and cars? Our troops have been placed in an untenable position. I admire and support our troops who do a dangerous task and die or are maimed for life for the insane schemes of political tapeworms who would sell out the Republic to gain a momentary political advantage. The invasion of Iraq was a mistake in the first place. The idea that Muslim countries can be forced to embrace democratic values is absurd because Sharia Law is totally incompatible with the idea of popular government, because it is perceived as perfect revelation from Allah and not subject to revision by election. Those people have been killing each other for a thousand years and they're not going to stop because we shake our finger and frown.

Doesn't matter how I would feel if my former dictator was like Hussein...

Revjen, I disagree with your post. But, also seemed to be thoughtful and sincere. All due respect, after reading your post and then reading your signature line I became a little bit confused. Do you support fighting the terrorists, but think we just went into the wrong country to do it? I'm serious in wanting to know. Please clarify...

tuttle8,
I don't know of anybody who doesn't want to fight the terrorists and win, although the neo-con Bush supporters will often try to paint it that way. The argument is about whether we're fighting them effectively.

How did the war in Iraq catch Osama or clearly qet rid of the Taliban/Al Qaeda fplks who ochestrated the 9/11 attack?

My problem with Bush is not fighting the terrorists but that he was incompetent in the excution of the fight.

I grant you that some wussy folks would like to blame the USA for 9/11 as we did not have enough multicultural dance festivals to understand these folks but the vast majority of folks unhappy with Bush would have been happy with a WWII level effort to destroy our attackers.

Bush went with a wimp strategy and a plan to make a buck for the oil companies in Iraq. He is too dumb to understand how he was manipulated.
