Just curious, who did you vote for in the Presidential Election of 2004?

Badnarik all the way!

Sorry was filling out the poll, didn't know the thread was already posted! :D

The Libertarian candidate - forget his name now. I knew my state was 100% pro-Shrub, so it wasn't going to help Kerry. In fact, OK and NE were the 2 states in which every single county in the state went Shrub, IIRC.

Bush. I'm not much for him, but then again, I'm really not much for Kerry. Constitutionalist probably would have been my other choice, but the things I don't see eye-to-eye on them with are just too big to keep me from voting for them. Likewise with the Libretarians.

While I'm of the libertarian philosophy, I voted for Bush because I was too concerned about what the other idiot would allow to happen to our gun rights (and because there was no way that Badnarik could win).

It might have turned out to be a good thing. Bush carried my state, but not by much.

Bush.

Bush, but out of neccessity, not choice. I waited 'till the last minute to see how it was going to go.
Once I saw that it had to be Bush or Kerry, it was not about putting Badnarik in, but keeping Kerry out.

I didn't want to waste my vote on someone who we all knew wouldn't make it, so I voted Bush, but as 38splfan said, only out of necessity. I don't think I could bear to look at Kerry's ugly snout for the next 4 years. I've heard him reffered to as the "man who just wants his face on a dollar bill..." But I whole-heartedly agree with a comment a friend of mine made: "you have to hold your nose to vote for either one..."

I think it's so sad that so many people are duped into believing that they have to vote for the lesser of two evils. How can you vote for a candidate you don't respect??? I just don't understand that mentality.

PS - You are in a car that is going to crash into a brick wall. You can choose the person who drives it. Bush will drive the car at 50 mph. Kerry will drive the car at 75 mph. You may choose between the two, or you may choose someone else entirely. If you choose someone else, you will get Kerry.

I voted for Bush so I would have a little more time to convince him to stop driving so fast, or to steer in a different direction. Even if I fail, I will at least have more time to live.

This is not our republic anymore when so many people have been convinced by the controlled media that they only have two choices between two practically identical candidates. Don't let them do that to you.

I can appreciate the fervor of your beliefs, if not the wisdom. Please see if you can find the same appreciation for those of us who don't believe as you do. We are not stupid, mindless, propaganda driven sheep, but rational, thinking, intellegent human beings
who happen to disagree with you.

Bush, 'cause I was offered no logical alternative.

> If you choose someone else, you will get Kerry.

The fallacy of this statement should be obvious, since a number of us DID vote for someone else.

Bush.

While I'm philosophically more of a libertarian, I vote in a major battleground state (no, not NY). To vote for anybody but Bush, especially in my state, would be a vote for Kerry.

You are quite correct, d_n. Please allow me to retract that and replace it with something correct.

If you choose someone else, you will likely get Kerry. Either way you're still speeding toward that wall...

Perhaps, but then again, the boy king was called out in poll, too. ;)

Yes, that's right: I voted Kerry. Not only that, but I encouraged others around me to vote Kerry, as well.

My vote was cast for what I felt was the lesser of two evils. I will not be baited into any discussions on Bush versus Kerry, but I will say that I'd have vastly preferred to vote for any number of 3rd party canidates. Actually, I'd vote for a 3rd party candidate strictly because s/he IS a 3rd party canidate.

Unfortuantly, this year's presidential election was too important for anyone, on either side, to throw away their vote on a 3rd party when there was no chance in Hell they'd make it. There will be no successful third party president in the White House until they make far more successful inroads in the smaller offices.

So, I almost always vote 3rd party in those "little" elections. Gotta start somewhere, eh?

Your not even fair minded enough in your poll to spell John kerry's name correctly..

LoL, this poster has no bias huh? What a joke.

Hey buddy, if you'd take the time to notice, sKerry wasn't the only one I choose to poke fun of.

I was gonna poke a barb at Walt Brown, but I thought he had already made enough of an ass of himself in the alternative party debates.

Bush, 'cause I was offered no logical alternative.

Like I mentioned earlier, I cannot vote for a candidate I don't respect. I voted for Badnarik because he holds my beliefs AND I respect him. I do not agree with him 100%, more like 98%, but I respect him.

Now I know you don't respect Bush. You only mostly agree with him (or what we've been told he believes) on general principle. You have stated that you agree that the whole Christian charade is a joke. You do not like his public stance on the "Assault Weapons Ban". I don't think you agree with an immigration amnesty policy or alien worker program either, am I right?

So how can you vote for the mirror image or Kerry and look yourself in the mirror in the morning? I will never whore myself out and I just will never understand the whole mentality behind "voting for the lesser of two evils". I'll just never understand why so many people will willingly lower themselves. I've come to the conclusion that most people just don't give a flying **** as long as their pocket book isn't affected.

That's one thing I really have been studying and trying to understand the social and economic reasons behind.

Amazing...I try to reach an understanding with you by offering my hand and you give me the back of yours.
By stating that you never whore yourself out, you are implying that the rest of us do who don't believe as you. You then go on to make statements about people lowering themselves...this is the height of arrogance.
Who do you think you are that you can judge people like that. You must live a charmed life if you always get what you want and never have learned the lessons of compromise. And before you make any more blanket statements about 'most people', why don't you shut your mouth, LISTEN and LEARN from them instead of arrogantly pre-judging everyone who doesn't buy your brand of BS.

BTW...the next time that you run a poll, have the common decency not to mock folks with your insipid, juvenile labels that you insist on attaching to everything.
