If you could pick 2 of these Glocks...

Curious why the 17 was left out?
Looking for opinions to help me personally, and I much prefer the G34 if I am choosing one as a night stand gun. I want my carry guns to be the same platform, so that is why I am not interested in smaller .380's or other 9's.

Would love to have a G34 at home, and have 1 carry gun, but I am not sure I want to always carry a single stack, and not sure how to always carry a double stack.
Given this clarification, I'd go with a G19 and a G43, of the options listed.

1. 19 or 26 - both are great for carry and home defense. I prefer the 26 to the 19 because the grip on the 19 prints too much on me. Plus I can use the same mags on either so I have 17 round mags for my 26 for home defense. You cant go wrong either way.

2. 42 or 43 - the only reason I would choose the 43 over the 42 is that you want to stay with 9mm. The 42 is significantly smaller and conceals much better. Its also much easier to shoot. I have shot them side by side a few times now and much prefer the 42. The size difference is really noticeable too. A few oz/mm for a EDC gun can make a big difference.

G26 + G19.
1. G26 primarily for CC.
2. G19 for everything else.
===========
No matter which two you pick, you will still want a third one.
3. G43 - because it is easier to conceal than the G26. Because G42/43 mags do not play in G26/19, I would go for the .380 version for less recoil.

I'm currently looking for a Glock to add to my carry rotation. I would never select a G42 or G43 as a primary carry piece. Why, when it's virtually the same dimension as its slightly slimmer brethren? The G19 is too close to a full-size even though it's a "compact".

As for weight, I have other guns when I wear basketball shorts - P11, PF9, P3AT, or P32. In a paddle or IWB, the P3AT/P32 is almost weightless.

The only option for me is the G26 or G27. Right now it's looking like I'm getting a G27 with a CT Grip laser. It's gonna be expensive for a carry piece, but what the heck, I'm worth it. :D

The G34 could be house duty but I would prefer a G22.

A lot depends on your mode of dress, where you expect to go, and such. The smallest of the bunch, and therefore the one least likely to be left at home, is the 42, of course. I really like the G26, and shoot it well, and appreciate its capacity, so I would say either a 26 or a 19 to serve double duty as night stand gun and concealed carry when concealment is not difficult (times when cover garments won't get a second look).

I see a lot of this type of thinking anymore these days, and I think its flawed. When did "size" become the determining factor of what you can carry?

If youre willing to dress around the gun, you can pretty much carry anything, and it really doesnt take much work to dress around a full size gun. Simply a little common sense, and nothing out of the ordinary.

I was always of the opinion that the gun you choose, should be the gun you shoot best with, and in most situations. Why limit yourself? And for a number of reasons.

Just to play devils advocate, it always has. There is a reason we normally carry pistols for ccw and not long guns like shotguns/rifles. They would require a trench coat or something like that to conceal:D

Its much easier to just get a gun that fits any outfit than trying to get outfits, certain shorts/pants/belts that fit a certain gun.

True, but full size handguns dont. As I said earlier, I easily carry a Glock 17 under my regular size tee shirt in the summer. Been doing the same or abut 40 some odd years now, dressed similarly, with things like GM/Commander 1911's, SIG P226's/P229's, etc.

No matter what you choose, you have to dress around it.

The downside to fitting the gun to the clothes, rather than the clothes to the gun is, you start down that slope of losing more than what you gain. Pistols are poor man stoppers as it is, and thats in their full size and caliber versions. The smaller you go, the worse things get. You loose power, shootability, capability, ect.

Then again, if everything you do or expect, will be a last ditch sort of thing, which is the purpose of those "little" guns, then by all means, cut yourself short. ;)

I misunderstood, because I thought you were asking us to pick two carry guns.

In that case I would say G34, and then either the G43 or the G19, depending on whether you prefer a single or double stack for carry. Im not a big fan of the G26 because IMO if you are going to carry a double stack, you might as well get the benefits of a longer grip, sight radius, and capacity of the G19, since they both feel about the same to me IWB.

Out of your list?
Glock 19 and 26. Nothing else makes sense if you consider you can use the mags from the 19 on the 26

True, however what's the point of using 19 mags on a 26? At that point you might as well just use the G19. Also, you can use G17/G34 mags on a G19.

For me, 19 and 34. There are no situations where I cannot manage to conceal a Glock 19, personally.

I picked up a Galco Underwraps that works great if I'm not wearing a belt (rarely).

I don't care for shooting anything smaller (like a 26). I also have no use for single stack 9mms.

I prefer sharing the Glock 19/34 mags.

I would get the 43 & 19. The 43 for carry and the 19 for everything else, the 19 was my first and only centerfire pistol for a while and it filled all roles. Good luck with your decision.

I'll stick with my Gen3 17 and Gen4 21 for now. Both of these shoot all of the cheap factory ammo we all know, very accurately and without a hiccup. From your list I'd go with the 19 and the 34.

I think most people would choose 2 carry guns in this scenario. If I'm wearing gym shorts, and need to take my dog out for 5 minutes, then I want a gun I can slip in my pocket. I've tried this with a G42, and it works. No idea about the G43, and mainly concerned about the weight. When loaded, it is 22 ounces, compared to 17 ounces for the G42. Right now I lean towards the G42 and G26 being best for my needs, but wanted to get opinions. Obviously I'd prefer the firepower of the 43 over the 42, but I want to always be carrying, and I know I can with a 42.

I'd prefer to eventually have them all :-)

I have only 2 Glocks. Both are on your list; a 42 and a 43. The 42 lives in my pocket. I bought the 43 because, well, just because I wanted it.

The Glock 19 and Glock 26
If I could only have one handgun period, it would be the 19.

Magazine interchangeability with the 26 being able to use the 19's mags pushes it over the Glock 43 for me.
