If you could only keep 2 of 3 revolvers...

Hi Everyone,

If you were forced to keep just 2 of 3 revolvers, which ones would you keep?

These are the options (all in excellent condition):

- Smith & Wesson 686 Stainless Steel 4" barrel - pre-lock model
- Smith and Wesson Governor w/ Hogue grip
- Ruger Security Six Stainless Steel 4" barrel with original target wood grip - tack driver

HA! That's funny. I don't even know what the Governor is but I sure know about the 686. Get rid of that Guvner.

I was hoping the question posed was what 2 guns would we keep out of our collection? I was going to say the 27-2 six inch and the 29-2, 6.5 inch.

I, too, would say "Bye bye Gov." It seems that while some may like this platform it is not as popular as it should be to survive over a long time. I suspect the Governor and Judge will fade into obscurity, which may be a reason to hold onto it for a hundred years or so if you are so inclined. I wouldn't bother doing so myself, but I guess some folks will so their heirs will own an oddity. My $.02.

The Governor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think that's enough exclamation marks.

Oh no, no, no....

You Have to keep the governor. Do not listen to anyone else in this thread, they don't know what they are talking about.. at all!

Bye-the-bye... I live in CT and I'm in the market for a revolver. Since we already deduced that the governor absolutely has to stay, I would be willing to take one of the other two , less desirable, revolvers off your hands. :D ;)

I suppose this question stems from the "usefulness" or the "versatility" of the Governor. Kind of like the versatility of a gas/electric hybrid chainsaw - who cares? Is it a tangible advantage for most people? No it is not. Is it a gimmick to sell guns, which was wise because many people who buy handguns lack experience? Yes it is. It was a wise idea to make $$$ for Taurus, and I suppose now S&W, but its not a wise idea for most people, in reality.

Keep the 357s, dump the "best SD option revolver ever" ;)

Keep a few?
