If you could only have one

Which of these would be your Go To Gun Manufacturer

If it were only handgun, I would pick S&W, but the poll only lets you pick M&P, so I picked Ruger so I can have .22RFs, Polymer, 1911s, Revolvers, etc.

If you add in Shotguns and Rifles, would have to be Ruger no question.

Which of these would be your Go To Gun Manufacturer

^^^^ That's the question at the top of the poll.

Since when is 1911 a manufacturer? Several of the manufacturers listed offer their version of a 1911.

It is a poorly worded and poorly executed poll.

I am not sure what the purpose of it is and what knowledge the OP hopes to gain from it that has not been gained by the 20X other similar polls over the last year or two.

It's not on the list:
Makarov: my East German, Bulgarian or commercial Russian. The manufacturers were Baikal (etc) and their equipment was used in other client states.

Many people believe that they are the most reliable semi-auto handguns ever produced. And they are compact, very rugged.

My Go-To-Pistol is a Beretta 96.
My Go-To-Revolver is a Ruger GP100.
Both are too big to carry everyday.
My Concealed Cary Gun is not one of these, its more of a pocket-gun in 38Special.

The poll says what is your go to gun manufacturer

Therefore I will say Ruger since they make my favorite revolvers. I have never tried their semis but if I were limited to them I'm sure I could get used to the LCPs and SRs if I had to.

If it were one gun period - G19

Every handgun I own is a S&W product.

J frame, m&p9c, m&p9pro, 5096.

And then there are folks like me. 6 of my 7 handguns are different brands and 4 of my 5 long guns are different brands.

Mine is not on your list. You do realize there are revolvers right? Just kidding. While I love my Colt Pythons if I could only have one handgun it would be either my 4" S&W 686-1 357 Magnum or my 5 1/2" Ruger Vaquero in 44 Magnum. Both are capable of taking whitetail deer as well as protecting me and mine. By handloading very light loads small game is also a possibility. Another advantage is both can use 2 calibers (Special and Magnum loads).

This whole thread should be voided.

Although I believe that the OP's original post was still not specific enough, and the list was not complete enough on the poll, I still believe that the thread should not be voided. The reason for this is because we all ask incomplete questions, and sometimes good info can still come about through these post.;)

I don't own one, but I have shot plenty of them. I enjoyed them alot. I would choose Glock.

And because the original post and poll was not specific enough, I decided to give my vote, and a vague one at that.:)

The phrasing is confusing - in one point the OP asks us to pick one gun, but the question in the poll is to pick one manufacturer.

I answered it as a manufacturer and went with Beretta because they make a pretty good variety of calibers and sizes, in both metal and polymer. And I like 'em.

Don't know what it is about Sigs, I just love 'em. They are fantastic guns.

Honorable mention to Glock, Springfield, and HK
