I want YOUR opinion.

To the original point......The .40 is a good round as is the .45, both will do a very good job. I have owned and fired many models chambered for each adn of those 2 choices I prefer a .45.

I do think the main reason most like the .45 over the .40 as far as "feel" is because most everyone is running a .40 through a polymer framed gun and personally I think that gives you a much different feel than running a .45 trough a 1911 steel frame. I know the .40 S&W SW99 I had felt much "snappier" than the .40 Beretta 96 Elite II I have now but that feels harsher than a .45 through the Kimber or Para and even more compared to a S&W 625.

Having fired both (Sig Sauer), I prefer the .45 ACP as I find that Im more accurate when shooting this load. Nothing against the .40 S&W, I just prefer the "old standby". But, should I decide to acquire a new handgun, I will be taking a serious look at the .40 as I currently have enough .45's to justify this decision.

BTW- Dont feel bad at all about your purchase . Its a very effective caliber and should serve you well.

Granted, most of the time you can't actually hear the sound barrier being broken because the muzzle report is as loud, if not louder, than the sonic boom that is created, but that doesn't negate the fact that in order to break the sound barrier you need a velocity of approximately 1,100 fps.
The sonic boom is added to the report to to make it quite apparent to me. PMC's 2 10mm loads are a perfect example. The 170gr load at 1200fps is far louder than the 200gr at 1050 though they feel identical to me when firing from a Delta Elite.
