I answered "somebody else" simply because my wife doesn't shoot all that often. She's always welcome to come out and shoot, though.

She also does not like range noise, so when she does shoot it's in our back pasture. (And, she doesn't like audiences. She works out at home, too.)

So, my best shooting buddies are my best friend from high school, and a couple guys from the dojo.

She's not into the MA stuff, either, for that matter; those are probably the only two activities we don't normally share.

Hey-she's pretty-who's the old guy with her
The question is who's fastest & best-lol

Old guy is me, i'm faster on draw but she is a better shot, because she has much better eye sight than i do.

I like shooting with my wife from time to time, but she simply doesn't have the physical stamina to shoot as long as I can. Generally, I shoot by myself and will put five or six hundreds rounds down range over a period of three or four hours. She can't last more than an hour of shooting. I'm okay with that so I guess when I go with a partner, she's the best one for me to hang out with!

--Wag--

My wife goes with me occasionally, as does my oldest daughter. My youngest daughter goes with me whenever she is home from college. My soon-to-be-son-in-law (via my oldest daughter) is a really nice young man who doesn't have much experience but is very teachable and interested, so he has gone with me a couple of times, with more likely to be in the offing.

Hey, TailGator.

I've only been shooting with my father-in-law a couple times, but we may be moving out to his part of the country. So, odds are he'll be my new shooting buddy.

While he won't be able to teach me much about handguns or rifles, I suspect he will teach me quite a bit about shotguns and archery.

I voted somebody else. My wife doesn't like gums. She's not anti-, she just doesn't care for tjem. She went with me twice and really didn't care for it either way. I woild woild love it if I could share my love of shootimg with my wife. But alas, it's not to be.

BigPapa.....

Maybe my wife should talk to your wife. Some time ago she felt
similar, but now that she's gotten pretty good at it (alot of practice),
and with the fears all gone, she now drags me out every chance she gets.

Oh Yea by the way-When my wife went to her CCW class, the instructor
was a handsome looking nice guy.....Try that-LOL!

I love shooting with my girl. She's my former 'girl next door,' literally, and we've been friends since childhood, though we just started dating a little while ago. As for why it took so long for us to get together... I guess I couldn't see what was right in front of my eyes.

my father-in-law . . . odds are he'll be my new shooting buddy.

Let's just say that my FIL taught me a lot about what not to do. I hope to be a good FIL, and it helps that he is a real likable young man. He is quick to offer to help out with household projects, and I try to return the favor. He is a kid who is happy to sit down with you and watch a ball game and sip a cold one. Good company, works hard, responsible, and treats my daughter like gold. The first time handguns came up, he asked me what the numbers associated with different calibers meant, so he was really starting from zero. I answered a lot of questions, then taught him the Four Rules and talked about how to apply them. Started him out with a .22 and he did OK. He likes shooting and I want them to have a home defense weapon, so we are heading the right direction.

My wife was not too fond of guns until I introduced her to shooting, now she loves shooting and always asks when we are going to the range again. Now she's so comfortable handling firearms that she would like to get her CCW...

And yet another happy ending...

with Tailgator!! Sounds like you are Doing It Right, man! and gee,
treats my daughter like gold.
isn't that the fervent wish of every father with a daughter?? Rejoice in yr good fortune, AND that of yr daughter, AND that of yr SIL!! :) :) :)

Those of us w/boys try to raise up a gentleman. Those of us w/girls hope desperately that she finds one! I don't know which gender of child is more wearing on the parent.

(I still remember a shooting session just before a deer season, long ago: "Daaaaad, why do we have to practice any more? I can already shoot better than most of these other guys, and you can shoot better than all of them." I couldn't figure whether to be flattered or irritated with him!)
