I am a liberal.

Welcome.

One quick question. Do you like koolaid?

For whatever its worth, I consider myself to be an historic liberal. I'm not really impressed with what passes for political parties today, be it democrat, spinelessrepublican, libertarian et al.

Please Please Please. The more taxes are cut the more revenue is brought in. Please learn about this. It may not be immediate but it is simple economics. Think about it, Stores do not have sales to lose money and make you happy. Prices are cut and sales are greatly increased which = more profits. It is the same with taxes.

P.S. Get Help with your liberal problem. Check out the libertarians(not all are nuts)

I am a kid. I like guns. I try to have a sence of humor and be funny.

Doesnt mean my opinions aren't based on the defense of my rights, nor does it mean I don't understand the real danger and safe handling procedures of firearms. This idea of "REAL gun" sounds more like old man snobbishness to me, joking about guns on a forum does not = dangerous gun owner in real life.

Nothing wrong with joking around, but the 7-11 comment probably pushed some buttons the wrong way. :p

Since people who CCW do so mostly because of the possibility of such an action happening, making cracks about how you could do it might not be the most.. endearing thing. I don't think it's that big a deal, I gave it ten times the words it really needed, but here you go.

You'll get a feel for the forum and unconsciously start behaving in a way that fits in while still being your own unique self, it's called how humans do social dynamics.

Being a liberal, and owning a Glock. I have to admit that is a bit worrying. Is everything else alright? I mean thats all you've mentioned.
It is likely that you will grow out of both these symptoms - especially with proper advice and guidance, like you'll find here.

But it DOES mean that, by definition, you don't have as much experience to back up your assertions or opinions.

You'll understand, sooner than you think you will, why that is significant.

Heres a bit I wrote to a friend who wanted to know my beliefs, so here goes:

For starters..

Religion divides. Every religion. Jew, Catholic, Muslim, Christian, Budah, etc. All of them.

I'm a Christian. Yes, I believe Jesus Christ died for me, and for all of you really. I also know, that because I believe this way, people will hate me. Since I believe there is a right and wrong, people will hate me. No, I don't condemn you for your choices, that is something that is morally wrong for me to do as I believe we only answer to God. People are offended by this, for whatever reason, I don't know. For what its worth, I've made my peace with God.

However, at the same time, I also know that each individual has certain inalienable rights that no one but God can take away, and it is the duty of Government to protect these rights: Life, Liberty, and the right to make the most out of the life given to you. Government does not have the right to tell me how to live my life, nor do they have the right to end my life without due cause. Due cause being that I have been convicted by a jury of my peers of commiting a grevious act upon another human being(Murder, rape, molestation, and even extreme theivery). Other "due causes" exist, including harming another human being to the point where, the only means to stop is to end a life. You loose the right to life by commiting evil upon another human.

No individual has the right to end my life unless I have given up that right by commiting a grevious act upon them. I also know that if someone is threatening me, I have the inalienable right to nuetralize that threat using whatever means possible.

So, what it comes down to is simple rights and respect. The original Christians had this down, and it is very obvious in the readings of the book of Acts, and really, most of the new testimont. To many have given us a bad name unfortunatly..

Hope this helps a bit..

This came up in a question that was asked about why certain people try to impose beliefs. I think it covers many aspects, personally. From freedom of speech and religion to the right to keep and bear arms. My religious beliefs are why I believe the way I do. Not because of the Constitution, even though it was as perfect a document that a mortal man could produce.

The amendments were added, to satisfy the states that wanted a recognization of rights built in, and the ones that didn't. Amendments were the compromise that they came up with.
