I hate to sound like an extremist. I have been told that quoting the Founding Fathers is one of the fastest ways to get that label. Sad isn't it. Anyway, ran across this speech:

We're not at the end of our options; however, how many think we are getting stronger? Not only is it time to vote, it is time to get others to vote 'our' way. Contribute, volunteer, or just display some signs in the yard & car. Also, NRA may have it's faults, but right now they are the mosted feared by the liberals. Join them, then the GOA. - end of my soap box.

But Glenn is right, we do Not have a coherant plan to expand the base. Guns are evil and Daddy and Mommy are evil because they have exposed you to guns. Call the police and they will come and take mommy and daddy away to "re-educate" them. All for the state, all for safety, people living forever.

As far as armed resistance, when I see Californians or New Englander's fighting back for their rights instead of writing about what they could do... then the testosterone fantasy is a little more believable.

Cali's and NE'ers I was not throwing punches at you particularly (on this board), especially the politically active ones, but we as a country are looking to you collectively as the example- on both sides. With constant caving in by the NRA, Feinstein and Boxer making welfare available to illegal aliens, we all do not have much hope.

You are the political front line for all of us. It is a matter of luck that you were chosen instead of the Rocky MTN's South East (and because we are all tobacky chewing morons living in our white supremist "micro-culture here too). We look to you as an example.

Everybody needs to stop thinking that it ban -is inevitable. We are not gun people; we are law abiding, constitutionalist who see ourselves as individual cogs in the machine and not part of the machine. If the numbers are correct- I doubt NRA as much as I do HCI and there are 80 MM of us, we could vote our way to the top. Oleg's posters (GD Forum) have pretty good, provacative images. Print a few out and staple them to Bulletin boards. Fight back with the VOTE, we will lose a gun fight.

That's a good point. If political battles cannot be made in states like California and New York that are successful, similar legislation will forthcoming everywhere and the political will of the people will support it. Maryland is similar. Colorado will probably pass a gun check for private sales at shows referendum.

The message that is needed is one that convinces the mass of the populace that civilians have the right and need to own firearms. Just reference to the 2nd Amend as an appeal to authority doesn't have persuasive power now.

Revolutionary rhetoric is counterproductive as who wants to have a revolution in the country. That you want to do such when you lose in the democratic process, is an indication you are nuts and shouldn't have guns to begin with. Sorry, but that's how it plays out and will look.

Legitimate polling shows little support for the tyranny against government reasons for the RKBA.

Any armed attempt to resist stringent gun laws would lead to some disruption but you would be quickly turned in by neighbors and coworkers. A successful guerilla has to swim in the mass of the people. The people have to support you or you use terror. Neither will be viable.

Probably, folks will hide their arms, like folks did with liquor in Prohibition and like folks who do drugs do now.

But so what. That makes guns useless for me.
How many folk will illegally carry for self-defence if handguns are banned? Not many IMHO.

Also, if you really contemplate an armed struggle, all the internet commandos are busted real quick. You are not going to get into action mode.
