How to secure a safe to the floor?

d my garage and the safe lives there now and nothing between the safe and concrete except the indoor/outdoor carpeting. If the floor is remaining dry why would the bottom of the safe not stay dry?

If u think your concrete basement/garage floor is dry, lay a rubber mat on it for awhile then look under the mat. Betcha it's moist under there....now imagine a steel safe there...and you'll know why you should have a moisture barrier under your safe..

What he said. Clear sheet, and toss some dry ice on it. Even better, close that puppy up completely and set a dehumidifier up in it for a few days. If that is a normal concrete floor, you'll be utterly stunned at the number of gallons of water you'll draw out of the "air."

The wife has a rubber mat in front of the washer and dryer on top of the indoor/outdoor carpet. The only time it has been wet under the mat is when the hot water heater sprung a leak, 2 week ago. Garage floor does have a vapor barrier under it and no moisture to date in the room. They must have poured special concrete in my garage, magical matter of fact, all is dry:eek:

Basements are an incredible pain in the keister.
Yup, present house has finished basement, and this year's rains have been BP raising, to say the least. New house has no basement and I don't think I'll miss it at all.
