Boy, am I out of place here! Not only do I not have a concealed carry permit, I don't even carry a gun, even though I live in a county that does issue permits.
On my person I carry keys (two each on one key ring). Nothing else. No watch, no cell phone, no belt knife, no multi-tool. But in my schnitzel bag I have a folding knife from Buck and another pocket knife with gadgets, ex-German army, also one flashlight and one pair of gloves in cold weather. When I wear boots to work I also have an extra pair of socks. I also carry my wallet (but hardly any money) and my lunch.
In my car, which I drive 20 miles to work one way, plus a TRIP TO THE BANK EVERY DAY, I carry multi-tool, so far never used on the car, a pair of jumper cables and extra radiator coolant, because it leaks when I use the heater. The car is a Ford Escort station wagon with 180,000). On my daily trip to the bank I always go inside because I want everyone there to know me and I want to know all of them, where they are from (India, Chile, etc) and how many kids they have.
At home I keep most of my rifles in my closet behind my mackinaw because things rust too quickly in the basement. At the moment there are four there. And somewhere around the house are my handguns. There are ammo cans with, well, ammunition stacked around the basement for guns that I do have and guns that I don't happen to have at the moment (you never know).
Of all the guns I've had that I thought would be a good carry gun (for concealed carry), I liked the Colt (lightweight) Commander in .45 ACP the best. If I were carrying openly, say in the woods, I liked the Colt 1911 in .38 Super or the same thing from Springfield Armory, which was almost just as good.
You know, when it comes to extra magazines, some people pick a high capacity just so they won't need to carry an extra magazine.
