How much do you spend on guns/shooting?

I have no idea.. Not enough but too much argue same time. In 2011 I bought a safe and a couple of guns. Not to mention ammo.

How much do I spend on guns/shooting? As far as ammo is concerned, not much because I have a boat load of components needed to make bullets. As far as guns (in my case rifles) are concerned I usually save up my beans and purchase a new one every other year or so. I don't have to pay range fees but it does cost money to drive two hours to shoot. I drive a Honda Civic sooooo.....not much really :D

I need an abacus for this one.... My wife joined the hobby this year so double whatever I had spent! 6 handguns in 6 months and still going, picking up another one tomorrow. Just picked up so reloading supplies so another 100 bucks gone, range fees 15 bucks per person each week, lunch after the range (does that count?). Shooting glasses for the better half and now a range bag, and she's buying guns too..... big black hole.

We have one guy at the club that shoots a flat of Remington Nitros every weekend. He has them delivered by the pallet to his house.
Couple that with his sporting clay fees and travel expenses to events, it must be a boat load of money.

Speaking of boats, I spend far less shooting, than I use to spend every year on my boat........

I know one guy who sold his boat to pay for his clays habit - new gun, custom golf cart AND trailer.........:D

It is some addiction fun, an now my wife has hinted she might want to try registered birds - THAT'S gonna cost me

Just paid the credit card bill that covered my latest gun purchase, annual range membership, plus a few accessories and ammo for the new gun. Ouch.

I can go a few months now shooting as much as I want and not pay another cent except for the cost of fuel to go to and from the range.

I spoke to my wife about reloading equipment (I'm actually pretty excited about the prospect of developing target loads for my .45 and 9mm that cost a lot less than cheap factory ammo), but she asked that I hold off until we see if I stick with it.

I think I'll wait to get close to running out of factory ammo and then decide whether the additional investment is likely to be worth it (I'm sure it will if I continue to shoot at this pace).

Lately I have spent a bit more than I usually do. In last 5 months I have bought the following firearms:
1. Ruger Single Six convertible with a 9.5" bbl - $465.00
2. 38spl Ruger LCR $413.00
3. .357mag Smith and Wesson 686+ 7 shot with a 4 "bbl. $799.00
Ammunition:
1. Ammo can with 2100 rounds of Federal 22LR $74.00 (on sale at Cabelas)
2. Several hundred rounds of 38spl, 357mag. and 22mag. $200 +/-
Miscellaneous:
1. Holster for my Single Six - $45.00 from a fellow TFL member IDAHOMIKE
2. Cartridge belt from Ebay - $47
I'm sure there was other purchases that I don't remember.
Total: $2047 in 5 months...I gotta learn to control myself!

Take it from me and probably the rest of us here. There is no going back, your destined to live with the fever that there is no cure for. It's a sickness but one i'm willing to deal with day to day. :p

I'm not even going to go into what i've spent the last couple years. My wife does know how to read guys!

I prefer not to think about what I spend on average per year but for my earnings level, it is a fairly significant % of my net income.

Hehehe, that made me chuckle. Good luck breaking this addiction, once you've got powder in your veins you're hooked. Tell her you'll get over it eventually; if you're 40 years old, you ought to be "cured" in another 40-50 years, tops.

Over the last year or so I would estimate that I've spent somewhere around $2,000 on guns and ammo. Close to half of that has been on my p226.

Too much - but I just started so I sort of overdid it / 8 guns in last year, none bank busters but that's still about $4,000. I'm cutting back so I can shoot the dang things a bit. The goal is wait 3 months between purchases and I have to have the money in hand (i.e. cash). There's still about 5-6 that I want and most likely will get but after that I'm probably done. Anything else would just be a copy of what I have.

At the range I spend $30 every two weeks between ammo and range fees - $780 per year. Plus some cleaning stuff and the odd holster.

I have to break the habit when I retire or I'll end up starving.

$1500 last year

$800 this year so far, and I still want to purchase a quality bench rest, an adjustable stool ($100 for a quality one), and .22 for my kids.

I'm good at controling my urges. In the past year I have only purchased two .22 rifles and a New Vaquero. Weekly range trips can add up. Now if anyone ever builds a golf course with a attached firing range, I'm going broke.
