How much ammo do you have?

My 5.56/.223 surplus is probably my largest, right now right around 12k rounds mostly brass cased ammo. My m16 is hungry. I used to only keep a few thousand on hand, but I shoot so much, I just started buying ammo by the warehouse. Probably 4k of 7.62x39 , 2k of .308 about 800 rounds of .45 acp, couple thousand 9mm, around 500 .22lr and 612 round of .50 bmg after this mornings shoot. Not to mention a few boxes of .40 s&w, .50 ae and .357 sig and magnum. About 50 rounds of .338 lapua and assorted boxes of shotgun shells. I'd hate to be near a fire in my house.
 
After todays buy from academy sports I have 3800 7.62x39, 1400 7.62x54r, 7500 .22LR, 1280 .308/7.62x51, 1250 9mm, 800 6.5x55, 920 7.5x55, 250 #00 buckshot 12ga., 250 slugs 12 ga., 400 other 12 ga. and 900 8mm mauser. There may be a few extra boxes that I have in drawers that I forgot about, but these amounts I have in ammo cans and I know for sure the count is right.
 
not nearly as much as you guys...

ive got brass and bullets for about 5K .223 but i shoot high power and not tacticool matches...

ive got about 1,200 rounds of .40 SW because that was my preferred side arm for pistol shooting for a long time but have moved to the 1911 in .45, i just have to work up a good target load...

.30-06 runs around 5,000-6,000 rounds. i used to buy it at my high power matches from a USGI can, taking it home and putting it on the shelf. by the time the season was over and the can was empty, i would get the can, take it home and put it back in the can. i also got a couple of cases from CMP north...

a couple cases (2,200?) of .30 carbine too...
 
Still don't think this is enough:

12,000 .22lr
5,500 .40S&W
5,500 7.62x39
600 .30-06
50 .38 special

Might be time to order some more...;)

What I have on hand is sure not as much as I want.

9MM - 3000 rds +

.357 MAG - 1800 rds +

.45 ACP - 2500 rds +

12 ga 00 Buck - 1200rds +

.303 British - 1200 rds in Enfield clips

8x57- 1700 rds in G98 clips

7.62x39 - 7500 rds + in 10 rd stripper clips

7.62x51 - 7000 rds + in M14 clips

30-06 ball - 2700 rds in Garand clips

.22 LR/LRHP - many thousands

I don't have ANY ammo Mr. BATFE Officer....in fact I even sold all my evil, commie weapons of mass destruction & manical mistchiff:eek::rolleyes::p

Honestly, why would anyone devulge that info. Were all gun lovers, but "My Stash is BIGGER then yours" is old news.

I got a Daisy Red Rider BB Gun and ONE MILLION BB'S!!! LOL! All in good humor folks!
 
I know this is an old thead, but those doing google search may find this to be relevent (like me, LOL). I think we want to see that there's people with either the same amount or more, for the sole purpose of comfortability. Nobody wants to feel like they're the cook with way too much on hand. The truth is, there's ALWAYS someone with bigger, better, and more of it. ;)

You hit the nail squarely on the head. There are many comfort factors involved in every day life. The question could be posed, How much "just in case" extra cash do you keep stashed away in some part of your wallet?

I have three bolt action .223s that I shoot at least once a week. And I know more than one guy with more than one auto that dont shoot in a month what I do..

And I have plenty on hand already loaded,,,not including over 13,000 rds once fired.
 
I know for a fact I have at least 4800 #00 at least 25000 308 minimum 2500 45-70 minimum 100000 45acp 25000+ 44special 12 50bmg cans full of loose 38spec full wadcutter and a minimum of 1000 ea in 7x57 8mm mauser 7.62x54 6.5x55 270 30-06 7mm rem mag 9mm 40 sw 380 327 federal and probably 200 each in 416 rigby 50bmg 50-70 45-110 38sw and probably an honest 1000000 22lr and still need more. And that's not all of the guns I own
