While I wont get on here and say exactly how many I have...Actually, I would have to add them all up, lol But its over 50. There are some reasons to this though. Most have been passed down to me from grandparents and my father, though he has a few he is still hanging on to. Generally when someone in my family buys a gun, we buy it to keep, forever. Ive got several single shot shotguns, several 22's etc that where passed down along with some others too. All have a story to tell, which is why I would be more likely to sell of a foot then a part of family history.

As life goes on, I admit its more of a chore to take care of and keep the guns cleaned, but its just part of enjoying the history. A few of the guns we dont even shoot anymore due to their age, but its still part of the family. For some silly reason I still keep bringing another one home from time to time. Good thing I am happily single...

There are a couple I have been thinking about posting about in the firearm research section here to get a more exact date.

For the record though, with all the boating accidents lately, I may take these passed down guns fishing with me today... :)

I had a few but, thankfully, they were lost in a tragic boating accident last year. I say thankfully because I didn't really like having all those evil guns around the house, one of them might have gone off on it's own (like the media and legal system says they do.)

I do still have my Red Ryder BB gun, I just have to be careful not to put my eye out...

Carried a 1911 in the Jungle of a land far, far away. Came home and bought my own and realized there was more than one brand. Been collecting all the brands that I liked and then thought....hmmmm. Some of my friends actually shoot wheel guns so I bought one and liked it and then decided that I would try to have a few in different calibers.

The years went by and my career dreams were realized. I bought German cars and thought, hmmmmmm. If the German cars are so nice, perhaps German guns might be the way to go so I collected my fair share of those.

One day I went shooting with a buddy that had a shotgun and an AR....hmmmm. Reminded me a lot of what I carried in that Jungle except it performed a lot better....didn't jam. So what if it didn't have full auto or 3 round burst? It didn't jam. So...I went out and bought a shotgun and an AR.

One day I woke and realized that was looking retirement in the face. I went out got certified as a Pistol Instructor and decided not everyone I was going to instruct was going to have their own pistol to begin with. Hmmmm. Perhaps I should buy a couple of .22's, one in semi and one wheel gun.

And so it goes....can't buy but another couple of guns or I will have to buy a new walk in safe and I'm getting too old for that especially since the wife mentioned that this big house is getting a bit much for us and we should consider downsizing....and what the hell am I going to do with all the German cars parked in the garage and driveway, not to mention the couple of Harleys squeezed into the garage.

I still manage to get to the range several times a week when we are not traveling and everyone of those guns gets shot in rotation with the exception of my EDC gun which gets shot each and every range trip. Oh....to answer the original question...I'm not really sure how many guns I own as my kids come and borrow some from time to time. I usually get the borrowed gun back when they have decided to go out and buy their very own model of what they borrowed.

Life is good.

100. Officially, 100. #100 is a Freedom Arms 454.

Of those I have a bit more than half licenced.

Yes, we need to licence firearms, with full motivation, accredited association membership, competency and fingerprints.

It's a crappy system and I'm trying to break it. :D

You too? SO, spooky!. I remember my wife saying to me, "Don't take ALL of your guns on the boat, what if something happens?"
Should have listened;)

My collection is about half of what it used to be. I sold off all my relics, still i'd have to get them all out and count them.

Only 7 :(

Savage 12FV .223
(2) Ruger 10/22
Mossy 500 12 ga
Norinco MAK-90 7.62 kalashnicopy
Kimber Stainless TLE II
RRA lower/BCM upper/DD BCG AR-15

Also FN M16A4, but it's "borrowed" from Uncle Sam..

I plan on acquiring many, many more.

20+, a wide variety of old and new, big and small, blued and stainless to keep it interesting, yet a small enough number that I don't have to dedicate a room or even a closet (or a large safe) for storing them. Almost half my guns are "on duty" in one capacity or another between cars, house, carrying and on loan to trusted relatives. Several others I use on a regular basis for target shooting, so only a few are shot only rarely. I'm not actively looking for more, but I'm admittedly a sucker for old classic Colts. :)

Never Enough

I just took up the hobby about a year ago and have six guns currently, all 22 caliber. I am in the process of buying more and will probably stop at 10 or 12. Kind of like golf drivers.......looking for that special one......(but never found it after 40 years of play). But each plinker has its own special qualities.....and finding the guns and their reviews makes the hunt all that more enjoyable.

Im 25 and have over 20 guns that I have purchased. My goal is to have 100 in 30 yrs :D. Personally, I don't understand this boating accident thing and think its kinda silly .
