City dweller as that is what life has handed me. Been shooting at my current haunt for a bit more than 3yrs and in my whole life, it is -easily- my favorite thus far. As it's 110-miles round trip... I don't do range "trips", I only do range DAYS.

Not even attempting to brag, so please don't accuse, but I never take less than 7 guns and every trip is 4-7 hours on the range, round count runs 600 to 1,000 shots of center fire, 200-300 of rimfire. In the shootable weather, I get out twice a month or a bit less.

In the midst of the most densely populated county in Florida, that's where I shoot. Nice little club, very strict but most convenient. One hundred and fifty yards for rifle, Seven, fifteen and twenty five yards for handgun and rifle.

Probably 3 miles or less. I live on the edge of town and the range is just a short drive through the country. It is a pleasant enough drive that I don't get upset if the range might be too crowded for me. I don't like to shoot with more than 3 or 4 other people there, usually not a problem at the time I go. I can come back later without much effort.

Both place I shoot at regularly are about 15 miles from my place, but in opposite directions. One is the club range: a CQ bunker for centrefire anything and a meadow for suppressed rimfire fun. The other is a military range, open to the public: 7-10m pistol, 25m pistol, 50m rimfire, 50m rifle/shotgun, 100m and 300m rifle.

Access to the first is part of the club subscription but at set times in the week, the second is per hour, but very cheap.

There are other options closer: indoor ranges that I sometimes use: more in winter.

Shooting range distance

Lucky to be approx 4 miles from DePere Sportsmens Club....excellent range. Helped out this AM with site-in days for deer hunting, place will be super busy till Nov 20th.:D

I can walk out the door and shoot in the yard if I want, and I do on occasion.

Dont really have any close neighbors, but I prefer not to draw attention. I have a real nice range about 3/4 mile down the road ($25/year), and except for this time of year, rarely see a soul while Im there. So I annoy the neighbors there. :)

Most of my shooting is on my own land. The Josephine County Sportsman Assn. range where I occasionally shoot with friends is 115 miles from home but only 21 from work. I am really looking forward to Tioga Sports Park, under developement about 30 miles from home, where they expect to eventually have a 600 yard option. Several BLM and national forest spots serve when we take the kids shooting. Many many miles from my house but only 2 or 3 from my friends'.

I posted the nearest, because that's where I go most often.
There is another more versatile (longer range & private location), that's 130 miles so I only get there 3~4 times a year.

Mines about 20 miles away. Pontiac lake shooting range; It's outdoor, but very nice and it gets nicer every year with all the improvements they are making. 10, 25, 50, 100 yd ranges with an archery, knife, and ax range to one side and a shotgun range to the other.

41-50 miles, I have closer places but it's the only place where I have at least 300 yards to work with. About a 40 minute drive

range

In PA...two miles, a game commission range.
or shoot up to 100 yards behind my home.
In NYC...five blocks from The Metropolitan Rod and Gun Club.

12 minutes from my garage to the shooting range.

A walk down the stairs to my basement if I'm shooting an air gun/rifle.
